I got a 72 FJ40 located on the west slope of CO at a friend/mechanics house. The original 1F motor blew and I am looking to replace it with a 2F. We can rebuild the 2F if necessary but would rather put a good motor in it and drive it. We will travel to pick the motor up within reasonable distance. Thanks in advance

Selling my 1972 Fj40 for $15,000 . This is a solid old truck that runs GREAT! I purchased it two years ago from a gentleman who was 85 and could not get in it anymore. It was in his basement for 31 years. It probably had not run in 15 years. I put a new (toyota) fuel tank in it, new carb, new water pump, new radiator, new hoses, and an HEI distributor. Selling my 1968 Fj40 factory soft top, original body and paint. I have the original soft top doors they will need to be refurbished and a set of hard doors. The truck runs and drives amazing I use it as a daily. But is far from perfect has lots of patina and rust! I built it over a few months it was a roller that sat in a barn for 30 years. I drive it daily, and make consistent camping and wheeling trips! The furthest I have drove it was from Florida to North Carolina over 1,200 miles to wheel it for 3 days and then drove it home. This is a truck a customer bought off here this summer and had me do some repairs and install some parts. It’s a 65’ tagged and titled as a 67’. Feeling out potentially selling my 40 to fund the purchase of another.
Has a SBC350 swap with the original 4 speed. Front disc brakes and Saginaw power steering. I recently rebuilt the knuckles, put on new tie rod ends, and a fresh set of Kenda Klevers. I have had it for just about 3 years, in which time I have installed a new distributor, redid the cooling system with a new radiator and a Taurus fan, put in a new flywheel, new starter, new alternator, valve springs and seals, installed the City Racer headlights, put in a new intake manifold gasket, and have generally gone about making her reliable and drivable. Overall it runs very well and starts up every time.

June 76 rustic green patina machine. Excellent running and daily summer driver. Not driven in the winter. Southern California rig now living in north Lake Tahoe Nevada. Mostly original paint and interior. Looks very good from twenty feet definitely a great patina with some red primer showing lightly through in some areas. I’m selling my 1972 FJ 40. I bought here in Boise Idaho. Since my ownership I have invested in some upgrades the include new brake master cylinder, brakes, tires, valves adjusted, new exhaust, new carb and throttle cable, new shocks, and old man emu steering stabilizer. The vehicle is mechanically sound.
The body has rust and needs some work.
The vehicle has after market bucket seats however I bought a set of the original seats including jump seats. Original seats have not been installed. That can be included for an additional $1200.
I also purchased stock OEM roll bars that have have not been installed. Roll bars in vehicle now are not stock.

Before I took delivery, Valley Hybrids had the 40 and completed an extensive amount of work, totaling ~$5K (I'm looking for the invoice.) I've replaced the front weatherstrip seal for the windshield and the rubber hood stoppers; both from City Racer. This would be neat to turn into a rock buggy or something. No drive train and mostly just a shell. Wheels are new and tires are in great condition and could be used as is.
