75k and rust like that 😳

Not going to happen

Made it home from work early enough for better pics. I contacted the PO about the spot on the rear passanger side in pic. They said it was a small rusty ding when they purchased it 30 years ago and they treated it. It hasn't changed since and it apears

to check out. Here are better pics. Also I absolutely can not find any other rust spots on the entire truck other than the pics below. Appreciate it.

I was second in line on this 40. I was on vacation in Florida when I saw the listing (had only been on 15 min), she called me after an hour or so, basically made me think it was mine then at the end of the conversation said “well there’s one guy ahead of you I haven’t called him yet.” I offered her over asking and an immediate wire transfer she wouldn’t budge. I respect her going in order but I was extremely disappointed, I’m sure you being local won her over in the end. This was my dream 40, I’ll always remember it as the one that got away lol

That's crazy! I saw her with a 4 sale sign on her parked at their estate sale. I've been chasing this truck for a long time as I've seen them driving around my area. They never mentioned anyone else after it. She's all fixed up now !

And for the record I didn’t sleep for the following three nights dealing with anguish of not getting it. Basically ruined my vacation. I thought I deleted all the pics I had because I never wanted to think about it again. I knew I would eventually see it for sale, I didn’t think I’d still be so salty about it haha.

75k and you can have it now

Is the truck lifted? The rear shackles look non-stock but I cant see them well enough

Hi thanks for the question. The shackles look OEM along with the springs, however it has coil-over shocks that are definitely not stock. I could be wrong, but I believe that's the case. Happy to send you pics tomorrow.

Since you brought it up, I do have a 2" Old Man Emu lift kit I will include with the sale if buyer wants it.

Here's one completely restored that sold on Bring a Trailer for $76,500. What's a full body off restoration worth? Subtract the full restoration and there is your price. I'm thinking the price is about what you paid.

If I had to choose between a restored one or one in OG condition . I would take the original condition every single time.
Unless its restored by someone who documented every single thing .
Thank you Sir, you took the words right outta my mouth

Then in that case, you need this one:

We all would if it was rust free

Sure, if we were talking about identical mint condition, but in this case you have the same car restored, and one with rust, funky pin striping, the wrong wheels and tires and while a nice driver, is in no way mint OG condition.

The cruiser mania of years ago is past, and as boomers die prices for classic cars are dropping. The kids don't want grandpa's muscle car or Landcruiser. If I wanted the best price for something I would sell yesterday, it's not going to get better tomorrow. Maybe in 10 years but I doubt it.
