Just received the keys to our new house in the Tri-Cities. It's official!!! Once everything is moved in, I will start exploring this side of the state.
Swapped out the traditional metal winch hook for a Factor 55 Prolink. Super easy process, took less than 5 minutes (once the snap ring tool I had to order arrived).
Before:
Step 1: Remove the cotter pin from the metal hook, extract the pin...
COLOyota EXPO GXOR Colorado has committed as well as 21 other vendors for this rally put on by Rising Sun 4wd club out of Denver area. Should have a very good Lexus contingency as well as overlanding gear, perhaps Toyota corp and lots of...
Love the LED's in my rear bumper!
It's like daylight back there when I put it in reverse when it's dark. Helps a lot when viewing with the backup camera.
Bought four of these and I'll be installing two in the rear bumper to replace the backup lights. The other two I'll probably install in the sides of the vehicle somewhere for some 360 degree lighting.

Do you have a compressor with you on your rig? If so, when you're in deeper snow, deflate your tires, you'll get a larger tire patch for going over the fluffy stuff.
Regarding welding, there's welding and then there's aluminum welding. Welding...
LOL! If you ever thought an exhaust manifold bolt was hard to break free try the steel bolt holding a sacrificial anode on a Navy ship that has sat in saltwater for a few years. Slugging wrench and sledge hammer to start with and more times than...
I have put 120,000 KM on my Old Man Emu Nitrochargers with out any problems at all. It is 90% paved road. We do have a very rough 3 km entry to our property that gets driven a couple time most days.
Welcome to the forum and congrat's on your ride!
Nice looking Montero! I've always lamented that there wasn't a better following of them compared to Toyota products. They were pretty cool.
Hello from HTX.
Montero 3rd Gen to 18’GX here. Hope I did the right thing. @26K miles, no mud underneath the carriage. First mod on the list is BMC.. then it’s game on 😅
The only issue I've had is having to rebuild my front Icon shocks about every few years or 15,000 miles at about $750.00 for both.
But I spend a lot of time off road too. If it was only on-road, they'd last much longer.
Went to their (C4) website, doesn't look like they are making this anymore.
If any company made a metal bumper for 2011 gx 460 that actually looked like a bumper (not a bunch of tubes), I would be interested in buying it.
Guessing 13 years...
I recently swapped out my Ram X-Grip, which I have never been a huge fan of, for a simple, all-metal phone mount for photography. It is similar in design to my Hondo Garage mount mentioned earlier in this thread, but not nearly as robust. The...
Ha-ha-ha! I have to laugh at your second line, "... I would say 90% of them would not make it to even 200k..."
We are SOoo spoiled with the reliability of Toyota's.
Most all U.S. and European vehicles would be LUCKY to get HALF that many miles...
A760 is not much different than the A750 other than having a 6th gear.
Remember most 470s had an external AT cooler while most 460s did not. Also that thermostat setup was added on the 460 as well.
Even this was added in recent years for 60k...
