Time to sell this rig, I have had it a few years and lots of new parts from a couple of old 1977's
It just kind of sits as I don't have time for it.
Pretty good shape, aqualu tub. so rust is never an issue -
needs some new exhaust hagers and window channels, but drive fine as is.

I bought this really cool 1969 FJ40 a couple of years ago. All original. It turned out needing the rear tub re-done, so I bought all the sheet metal and am having @arthog do the work for me. He's an experienced welder and a cruiser head. That is expected to be completed by July/August, this summer. Terry says the sheet metal will have primer on it.
I have the title for it. It runs and drives just great. Did a carb rebuild. It's still 3 on the tree. The glass is all intact. It still has the original bench seats and rear jump seats. I did convert the bath oil filter over to the adapter for a more modern filter. It's got some roller tires on it at the moment. I've got the original hubcaps. I have a 1980 BJ40 that is great but while I was on a long absence from the country got badly rusted,. it was a Costa Rica rig that someone bondo-ed up and made it look pretty, Prefer one that has not been converted to another engine. I am on the West coast but location is not critical.

I am selling my 1968 FJ40 FST, bought it two years ago here Mud. It underwent a full frame off rebuild/refurbish. Everything that needed replaced was replaced during that time.

1978 with recently installed '78 2F (June 2024). New valve stem seals during engine swap, no smoke at start up or running. Daily driver condition. New brakes, wheel and axle bearings, knuckle and steering components. New seat upholstery. Lights, signals, gauge cluster all in working order. Included with sale, many OEM parts to return to original; EGR heater, carb, air filter assembly. Tires 3 years old (less than 2k miles) Excellent frame condition; with some standard FJ40 body rust. 76 FJ40 restored from almond orchard in Northern California- I originally purchased this truck and had extensive work done to get her back on the road with nearly all OEM parts. Pollux orange factory soft top 1973 FJ40 for sale. The Pollux orange FJ40s aren’t very common. Fairly solid rig with clear Virginia title. I have owned the Cruiser for about 8 years. It’s been stored inside the entire time I’ve had it, was under a tarp in a field when I bought it.
The Cruiser is not currently running, I do not know the condition of the original F-engine. I was planning to do a 2F swap. I did clean and prime the floorboards soon after buying it.

Have a 1968 Toyota FJ40. Have had this since mid 70’s. Hasn’t run since 2005 or so. At that time it had a dead cylinder, rings or valves. Rust is minimal as it has been in the desert for past 30 yrs. I bought the truck from the original owner in July 2021. I’ve worked the past 2 years on refreshing it back to life. This was not a restoration, but it was a refreshtoration. All the work was done by me. I’ve been a Cruiser guy for the past 20+years or so and have had several FJ40s.
This 40 has a mixture of OEM parts from 1970 and a some from a ‘78. The body was pulled off the frame and the frame was wired wheeled, rust inhibitor applied and painted. The rear crossmember and angle braces were replaced with a later model from BTB.
All drivetrain parts are from a ‘78. 2F motor. I rebuilt the carb and added a new water pump, aluminum radiator, starter. Runs great and...

Both turn over great when jumping the starter with a battery and if you know these engines (if they turn over they will start).
