Overall a nice 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ40) up for sale. Clean LA title with many records from previous owner. I’ve owned it for a few years and have slowly been trying to restore it, but I’m ready to move on to something else. This FJ40 has a lot of character. Runs and drives really well. This is a modified FJ45 with a frame date of 1964 and originally registered in 1966, as a 66.
8 years into it I found rust pushing up from underneath body fill and learned just how much was covered instead of restored. After replacing the windshield frame everything but the tub and bed was removed, sandblasted, zinc coated and repainted before being reassembled. This was when I learned the windshield, doors, fenders and panels forward of the cab are later model...

I feel like this is the best priced fj40 on the market for the upgrades and condition. Solid frame and body, relatively minor rust for an fj40, lots of leaks. Runs great, fires right up and drives "smoothly" (for a 40) with power steering and disc brakes. Most of the hard upgrades are done.

I am finally listing my 1975 FJ40 with a 327 Chevy swap for sale. The details of the project are all documented in my build thread which is listed below. It is not currently able to be driven due to clutch issues. It has a ton of new parts and work done last year. It has been stored indoors for the last year and started periodically to keep everything on the motor happy.

I bought the car almost one year ago and I did some mechanical work to make it run good, I didn't have time for full restoration, as I also have other FJ40s that require some attention and budget, therefore I decided to sell it in its condition so the buyer will have a clear idea of all restoration requirements or just to run it as it is. 5 Land Cruisers for a family of 4 probably doesn't seem enough for most on 'Mud… but this 1981 FJ40 is the runt of the litter, so it's big brothers do all the cool trips now, and it's relegated to quick trips to the local store. Looking for both exhaust heat shields for my 78 FJ40 that were missing when i bought it. I plan to sandblast and powdercoat so not too concerned with finish but prefer steel that is solid and not heavily rusted that can withstand a refinish.

1973 FJ40 Project
This is a project for someone with more time/energy than I have.
This project was inherited mostly as it sits know. There are a lot of parts here, and more parts that are needed to put this thing together.
There will be a bunch of fab work that will be needed in order to get this thing running correctly. I will try to be as conclusive as possible of whats all here, and what all is still needed, but there are some unknowns in the details. I acquired the project without all the info and specs, and will detail everything I know and don’t know as much as possible.
