The time has come for Lash's (Live Like Lash) family to pass his 40 on to the next wheeler. Specs to the best of my knowledge are below:
  • '77 FJ40
  • Original 2f
  • H41 and Orion from @orangefj45
  • 4.88's...rear Aussie, front ARB
  • RCV's
  • York on board air setup
  • Saginaw power steering
  • Rear disc brake conversion
  • 37x12.50/17 KM2's (matching spare)
  • HFS 4" suspension...springs flipped for wheelbase stretch
  • 4-plus u-bolt flip kit
  • 4-plus rear bumper with basket and spare tire swing outs
  • Metal Tech full cage
  • IPOR skid plate
  • Fully rebuilt 8274 with Albright solenoids
  • New battery
  • A metric s*** ton of Lash custom mods - sliders, doors, roof skin, seats, KC light can speakers, etc
Truck starts right up, even when cold. 2f sounds like a sewing machine. Steering is incredibly smooth and effortless.

There's a lot of story here...reach out if you want more info on that or on the truck itself. Listing this for the family. I'll field all the questions and deal with all the tire kickers, but the buyer will pay Amanda. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please send them my way.

Asking $15k OBO.

Cheers 🍻
JT

Not mentioned in the ad but does either a hard top or soft top come with this 40? Do you know if one will fit with the full cage?

Neither a hard top nor a soft top comes with the 40. I'm not sure if it was the original hard top from this truck or not, but a couple of tops were 'repurposed' by Lash to construct the Backwoods Bellagio many moons ago:

I know there were some examples of hard tops being fitted on top of these full Metal Tech cages back in the day, but it seems like some modifications were required. I don't know if one would fit on this one as is or not.

While looking for the 'camper' pic above, I came across Lash's old Mud signature:

'77 FJ40 "GunRunner": 37" BFG KM2, Georg's Orion/H41, ARB/Aussie, RCV, DUI, RDB, 4R Calipers, Mudrak-York OBA, 8274, Saginaw PS, Hell Creek 4", 4+ U-Bolt Flip, MT Cage & Grill Guard, IPOR Skid, 8" Tuffy, Tiburon Seats on Suspension Base, LLC-Fab Drawer System, Rear Bumper with Dual Swingouts, Rocker & Tub Sliders...

I got the rear Detroit wrong...it's an Aussie, and I left off the RCV's. I'll update the original post.

Damn i wish i didnt already have a crawler other wise i would be headed south!
Great value on a super cool rig with an even cooler history!
Sure hope it stays in the TLCA community!

Someone NEEDS this 40. It truly one that needs to be loved and continue making memories.
