Peruse this thread and reach out to this member who just posted that he is considering selling his 40. This is a REALLY solid well sorted truck from a family of cruiserheads. V8 in a 40 is rad.

I would be looking seriously at both Siplife and cims1970fj40 rigs. If you are serious either of those would be a smart choice. Buying from a respected Mud member is the best way to get a good rig at a fair price. Everything else is a gamble.

His 40 is a 100% turn key honest driver with all the right stuff done to it.
Would be a way better use of your money then any of the other trucks posted in this thread.

It looks pretty legit, fairly complete and original. Probably 126K miles on it, unless it can be confirmed. The seats have been recovered(blue?). It'll need rear 1/4 panels and maybe rear sill in the future(rust above the wheel openings) and probably is hiding more rust. I'd want more pics from under the floor matts, engine compartment and underneath before making a trip. Maybe find someone local to look at it. The added material above the frt door openings is hiding something or was installed for wind or water intrusion. The dash has been cut to fit the radio. Cracked dash pad. It might be a little high. A video of it running would be good. I rarely put a value on things because I think that's between you and the seller. I will only id issues, so you know what you're looking at and can use for negotiations. It will probably shine up with some elbow grease.

You can find multiple threads on 1/4 panel and rear sill replacement in this section. It's not uncommon. 1st you want to get what ever you buy running stopping and driving nicely, then pick your battles.

I agree with all of pb4ugo's comments. I don't see anything of significance missing. Perhaps the factory jack and assorted equipment, but those rarely come with vehicles this old. IMHO being complete, or very close to it, is significant. Tracking down missing parts is time consuming, it can be somewhat expensive, and shipping costs for lots of pieces adds greatly to the cost.

The front floor mat looks intact and without cracks (from what I can see). That is very rare and worth a surprising sum to a purist trying to finish a high point restoration.

I would want photos of the bottom of the front doors and ambulance doors. Those areas are commonly rusted. I'd also like photos of the underside of the frame.

Found one nearby. Here's what the seller has given me.

" Everything works. It was bought at auction in Arizona 12 years ago. Shipped it here. Was disassembled repainted and re-assembled. Hasn't hardly been driven since then. 4 wheel drive works as does the heater and gauges. Engine was rebuilt before it was purchased as well.

Any obvious things that stand out? Thanks.
