Work sucked. My face hurt all day from the s***ty N95, the shield is annoying as f. We had somewhere in the 10 number of deaths, mostly quite older, 90’s and up. Literally have to ignore confused people calling “help me” from behind closed door per CDC rules. Medicated them but never at the optimum time cuz it’s so friggen hard to do anything in the correct window of administration due to donning and doffing of PPE for each any every resident every time you walk into their room. I KNOW it could be worse and I should STFU.

Nice to come home to the axle rebuild kit. I’ve really come to prefer my hobbies over my fairly well paid profession even w/o hazard pay.
No beer so a warm mug of tea and a few fingers of bourbon to destress while I cook some soup.
Btw, fresh grown garlic is amazing. Try growing some if you never have. This will be my second season. So much better than store bought.

That's my GO-TO as well (KC)! Thanks for all you do on the front lines......The rear rebuild is a walk in the park compared to all that you have done so far! Enjoy it. I did mine a few months ago and Cruiser Outfitters is the BEST!

Homemade soup, dumplings cooking, stress alieviated, hanging w/ Sunny unknown gender beardie. I think s/he likes my 60 shirt that I prompted the maker, RJ something to do off my trucks general maint book... all he had at the time were 40 shirts so I sent him a pic of my book and there she is!

I love that shirt! I understand the pain with wearing masks all day and how difficult your job is. Thank you! TGIF! Jameson's for me, Thanks🥃🤏😏
It has been a day. Must be a new moon. Was gonna retard my timing 2°, but decided to listen to loud music instead.

Priorities man! Give me some Negan and creepy zombies and I’m hooked for more high anxiety but vastly different from work.

Okay... Tech help needed, I ordered the Steiger in-line upper rad hose sensor adapter... Its 3/8npt and I am thinking our coolant sensor must be 1/8npt as it jiggles in the housing. No big deal I can get, have to anyhow, the right size sensor for the adapter. But when it comes to the gauge, I'd like it to match the vac one I plan to install as well. Pic shown. Autometer, very basic, black round face with white writing. I found this one, which is the same brand and matches nicely, will it work? Has the sensor and even lists the npt I need. Can't quite tell if its saying it includes the inline metal hose adapter like what I already have in hand? Forgive my girly confusion. Also, just to stop any suggestions, I don't like digital face gauges.

That will work fine.
On website:
  • Gauge kit includes 1/8” NPT temperature sender, 3/8” and 1/2" NPT adapters, bulb and socket assembly, mounting hardware, and detailed instructions for installation

Perfect, all set and ordered. Thank you! Back to the rear end!

Little things at a time add up to a very successful and dependable Cruiser. You will get many smiles per mile when you are done. Would be cool for you to make it out for Sold Axle Summit. Your work ethic and tenacity would be welcomed in the group.
Aamazing work my friend! You are an inspiration for more than you know.

Just an FYI - That Steiger in-line rad hose adapter is very long; it forces the short upper rad hose out so it rubs against the power steering reservoir. I ran mine that way for awhile, but it quickly wore a divot into the hose. You might try installing yours on the side closer to the t'stat housing ? I didn't want to route mine that way as it was too crowded with all the smog hoses and pipes already.

At the time, there was only one guy in the world it seemed who was selling a 38mm (1.5") hose adapter with a 3/8" NPT temp sender fitting. He's still on ebay but I don't see that adapter anymore. He was modifying (drill and tap) the ones with 1/8" NPT that are made for electric sending units. If you have a 3/8" NPT tap, you can do this yourself as those housings are only like $7.

Mechanical sending unit will be 3/8" NPT. Electrical, 1/8" NPT

EDIT: If you're desmogged, you can put the sender into one of the BVSV holes (3/8 BSPT) in the lower T'stat housing.

The smaller adapter fits much better: hose is still close, but even when it's hot and fully pressurized, it still doesn't touch, now:

Maybe it’s possible to bring it closer to the neck coming out of the rad? Dark out now but I’ll fiddle w/ it tomorrow.

It is a tight fit and @Spike Strip is right it will rub, I just cut a piece of hose and put it between the hose and the pump. Not ideal but no problems in quite a few years, just not much room to work with.

It would seem to me that the adapter could be trimmed so the bubble end is the farthest edge? Idk, like I said, I’ll pull the hose tomorrow and get a better idea about making it less snug if able.
