I'd bet this is the only documented occurence of prophilactics for LC maintenance. ...but it worked
It actually didn’t hold air.. must of been one of those ones I took a pin to. Hahaha!

All in gest guys. I know jokes about prophylactic integrity does t always sit well... many women are that crazy. I’m not. I’ve had my kids and I’m done. For me, 46 is far too old for babies.
Okay I’m actually back to my semi regular schedule this weekend, wah, big whiny girl I know, Fri/Sat/Sun 7-3 and I picked up Halloween weekend too.
Things I need to do for the truck:

Install wheel cylinders. Finish installing shoes and drums. Edit, ordered one new bellcrank, pending arrival Sat. Bolt shaft too embedded with corrosion.

Extract three sheared bolt shafts, two in the rear axle brake brackets, one in a bellcrank.

Attempt to remove the bolt from the oil seal (god awful cement) coated e brake diff bracket hanging on the cable. A great friend is sending me a new bracket to weld to my diff cover. Will be here soon.

Attach negative dangling above trans/tcase. Tighten up speedo while I’m in that area. Route the harnesses as well which are just dangling too.

Really want to while I’m at it, make the front axle length of brake line too cuz that one has tons of crimps in it.

Reattach coolant lines to oil cooler.

Trim steiger in-line temp sensor (or just hook it up through lower BVSV and once gauge arrives get it hooked up.

Evap lines hooked up to distributor and City Racer carb.

Reattach driveshafts... Torque tcase input flange nut prior to front shaft install.

yada yada, lots more.

Cue frustrated sigh and looking at weather app knowing I’m on borrowed New England time.

New bracket arrived and got it welded on the cover. Cut the head off the bolt fully corroded to the remaining e brake cable bracket and was able to knock it out. Dremel cutting disc and grinding discs still a favorite go. Working under truck so I used the jack stand hold the bracket w/ a pair of vice grips. Bracket will wire brush up nicely.

Gave in and ordered one new bellcrank pivot thingy, pin and clip for driver side. Spent too much time trying to heat, drill and extract the remaining shaft than I want to care to admit.

You should paint that diff cover a nice rusty brownish red.

Was going to mention the bell crank parts are still available next one that comes to my shop seized will get new not me refurbishing way to much time involved but can drink beer while doing so
What can’t you drink beer while doing?

I think he means ‘at least while refurbishing, I can drink beer...’ I think. :)

I was joking around. I mean, you can drink beer doing literally anything. It’s true. Heck I’ve heard of brain surgeons drinking while operating. They only made drinking and driving illegal because people get hurt.

Don't wanna hurt any landcruiser while drinking on tha job.

Hilarious for me, I haven’t bought beer in a few weeks. Generally only drink one a day or less so a 12pk lasts. Felt the loss while my kid was here this week, I guess I lean on it a lot more than I realize toward the later part of the day and my patience is thin. No biggie.

Okay so bracket sides off e-brake cable, cleaned and painted diff cover fresh paint. Brake lines a few inches longer than I meant. My string measuring method works and allows me room to improve.

I wouldn’t cut And re-flare those ni-cop lines for the sake of taking 2-3 inches off. Just add a few more bends and use the length up.
Oh well, already done.

Why not? It comes in a roll and you have to flare the ends. It's very easy to work with and makes excellent brake lines.

I sacrificed two captured nuts on the axle brake line brackets. Two bolts had sheared and neither were on my happy list for extraction. Will use bolts, lock washer and nuts to hold the line to them. I’m done w/ being fussy.

Oy... front axle section of brake line. I have come to decided some copper/nickel line is harder than others. And even your tool is cheap, it’s all in the prep. Mine does tend to lean to the right. I’ve watched it enough now and better able to compensate for it.

And a much needed used donated to the cause part.

Btw, I wasn’t at work today because I was offered to get called off. Census too low... hence, the affect of covid thanks to our corp taking in two admissions Sept 3rd... and it showed its ugly face on the 15th. Over 10 deaths since. Mostly all very elderly or in poor health but still, pretty pathetic when the excuse is ‘well we are a business....’
I had the schedular pay me in vaca time. I love wrenching while being paid.

Because she bought pre-flared lengths with the fittings already on and it appeared to only be about 2” too long. It was just an efficiency comment. Obviously if you buy it in a roll you’ll need to cut and flare.
