I used to be a skip investigator so I love things like this. Google search leads me to believe Terry is a female in her 60’s-possibly a senior picture? Possibly married (Hawkins) and moved to PA. Would be cool to reunite.

Keeping my thread current with the recent Cross Country Expedition trip through SF. The day before the trip I drained over a pint of oil to get the level into the correct range. Strange as I know I followed the capacity guidelines. No white smoke going down steep hills in SF - granted they were much shorter than the 2 miler I went down.

You guys are parking like a bunch of Jeep owners. o_O

You mean not inside the lines? Rebels... Or actually I was so excited to see the open spots I didn't even pay attention to the lines. :)

You may want to check the gasket on your fuel pump. That’s a telltale sign of the diaphragm leaking fuel into your oil.

Thanks! I do have a brand new fuel pump (OEM) that I bought a while back to have as a backup. Maybe I just install that and then have the old one as the backup... ;)

7.5 quarts is what it took to fill my 71 F.:meh: Pretty sure I read oil capacity was supposedly 8.5.

Yup I believe it was 8.4 quarts which I did. Guess I should've been paying attention to the dipstick vs. blindly accepting that number. Who's the dipstick?

I love this shot my friend took. My cruiser looks pretty dang good if you ask me. ;)

And another decal... my Raiders have been a big disappointment this year but I can always count on my Warriors.

Still away from home on vacation for the holiday observed a couple of nice cruisers. The white one appears to be a FST - I drive by it every time I visit my friend who is storing my 75. Someday I’m going to stop by and talk to the owner to get more details and see if he’d ever want to sell it... ;)

And right around the corner from my parents house a corrugated top with black CA plate!

Forget about the white one - - bezel's bass ackwards

So if he’d take $5K I should say sorry, bezel is upside down...

I would just like to see it up close to see what condition it’s in. No way I’d be able to bring another one home. :(

You need to be proactive. Say, "Your bezel is upside down (pause) I will give you $5,000." Then you can remove the question mark following Divorce Cruiser and move forward into your new life as a Land cruiser aficionado and collector :D

I have a way to go to fill up my own Land Cruiser Heritage museum...

I bought an oem fuel pump from @Racer65 for a backup. Figured it would be good to have. Then realized, why not install the new one and have the old one as a backup? Duh.

I am a little concerned though that the old one is missing the spring on the arm. I don’t recall if it was on there when I pulled it out. Is it possible it fell off and is inside the engine block? If yes, is that going to be a problem? Will it settle to the bottom like that sheared off nut/bolt head I found in there when I last changed my oil? Is it possible it has been this way for a long time and that is why my fuel seems to disappear quickly out of the carb? Why can nothing ever be easy? Ugh. :bang: @orangefj45 should I be worried?

Decided to do more replacement of stuff with the backups I had. Ignition switch assembly went well. OEM replacement:

Got greedy and decided to swap out alternator too. It was working fine but it is old so figured why not? Doesn’t look OEM - no Toyota or TEQ or nippondenso or any markings on it. Got a “premium” Napa alternator which looked like a plug and play unit. Except for the construction is slightly different and of course the straight bracket won’t work. Crap. Will go to parts store tomorrow to see if they have a curved bracket I can modify.

I’ve thought about buying an extra fuel pump as well. I hear they are rare. I have a bad habbit of waiting until something’s nla

Looks like you have done some good stuff lately.

Sorry my iPad and mud aren’t getting along.

Not that rare... ;)

Fuel pump

I should reword. A post meant for another thread came up here and I couldn’t delete it so I edited it quickly.
I remember a while back the 78 fuel pump was low quantity and rumored to soon be nla. Anyway looks good, racer has made a quality place to find goods. He may be the only one with the 78 pump New if I remember correctly
