Man, these guys with the turbo kit sitting on the floor are killing me. I am ready to install, staged like a NASCAR pit crew, but no turbo to install yet. Send me yours and I will give you mine when I receive it.

Mine sat on the floor for 2 months. But my excuse was i was doing a complete rebuild on my motor. Its hard work and time consuming. Every freaking day. 7 days a week for 3 months I was wrenching on it. He'll im still wrenching on it everyday. Just all little interior and wiring stuff at this point.

Kind of nice to drive it. Its got 100 miles on her already. At 300miles I do another oil change. Then 1000 miles. After thar I'm going back to Rotella 15w40 and every 3k oils

Thank you for doing this and providing updates on the progress. I know the last thing you want to do it post updates after a day of wrenching. However it will help guys like me decide what to add during my install. Keep up the awesome build!

That number will never be disclosed

From a business stand point, it would seem business has really picked up for you. Which means your looking to expand, thus true sales numbers may only be disclosed to people who have a vested interest in the company.

For us perspective buyers standpoint I can only say after reviewing your pre sale orders, interest on the forums, and pictures of parts incoming parts/kits outgoing. It's simply "more than sufficient ".

Most members would ask for that statistic to make sure they will have future ongoing support of the product. However at the end of the day I feel you priced the kit right to allow for a good value and a better than industry service life span.

Worst case is you stopped making turbo kits today, a new in box kit would probably trade for around $8,500 with current demand. Even If Joey ran away to Mexico tomorrow another company would pick up support to get the increased volume and foot traffic.
Based upon the fact that Wit's end easily has the best support for 80 series, I am a buyer. Only question is will I drive my Turbo 80 series to Sema this year or fly?

So business itself has definitely picked up. I think I average about 45 shipments a day for January. It’s what is pushing my expansion. Turbo sales don’t really figure into it because all I’m doing it paying myself back for the development. I’m sure demand will pick up again after I get my CARB EO.

I built product AND support longevity into the plan. Right at the get go I told every single installer, who had an issue with the install, to post it publicly because I wanted everyone on the same page. If I couldn’t help with tech support, surely those on this forum sure could. As to the components, I purposely over produced to make sure I could keep these in the road for years to come.

How hot does your Vband (exhaust side next to turbo housing) get? Mines at 600 to 650F after a hard run. Im trying to figure out if thats normal for specifically that spot.

When I was at Garrett I saw turbine housings glowing red/orange during normal dyno testing. The turbine is a big restriction in the exhaust stream and the turbine housing absorbs a lot of thermal during normal use. The V-band is going to see a lot of that heat soaking into it from the turbine housing.

Just got back from a 1500 mile road trip pulling my off road camper, didn’t do the math on mileage but a comparison note, non turbo pulling over monarch pass in Colorado 12k ft curvy pass, on 35s with 4.88s I was in first gear bogging down doing 15 mph curious if I was going to have to pull over and go into low range..... same setup on 37s turbocharged, I was cruising at 50 mph shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear!!!

On a side note I’m looking for someone in or near Hobbs New Mexico with an 80 and Slee dual swing out bumper that might be willing to let me borrow there 80 for mock up purposes? I live in Gunnison Colorado and have a friend in Hobbs that’s going to convert my ladderswing out into a bike carrier, my goal is to not have to drive down to him, I would like to load my ladder swing out and mountain bikes into my plane, fly down and have an 80 to use for mock up with my swing out? Not trying to clog up this thread, so if anyone is able and willing please PM me!

Hi guys, New to the forum...im from colombia and have a 97 lx450. Just finished my custom turbo setup last week. I wanted something that charged very fast and have more torque, very easy to install and use all the stock parts that i could use. So i went to a cxracing gt28r turbo, mazda bt50 intercooler, on3performance blowoff and 3" exhaust. Also need a water/meth injection because we have very bad fuel here ( 89 & 91 ). Im very happy with my truck, change a lot, full boost from 2k. Since i just have 1 week with the turbo and have a very bad oil leek that need my attention, i dont have more info... hope to update soon, need to fix that leek, change spark plugs and tune the water/meth injection in the dyno.
Regards!👍

Nice work! I bet it's really peppy with a gt28!

Do you have OBD2 down there in Columbia? Any sort of tuning? If your computer works like our american ones, you may be running too lean at lower RPMs.

I'd love to see some more photos of your intercooler setup

not interested in helping the competition.
You really don't have any competition Joey , But I get it. Just wish you had one for OBD1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanted to jump on here. I recently pulled the trigger on a Turbo from Joey and just have to wait to get it shipped out to me. I noticed a lot of us are in CA. Makes me laugh that even with smog requirements a lot of us are/will be running the kit.

I am definitely interested in getting together to see other 80's with snails under the hood. Or even meeting some people without one (honestly it would be more fun to flex on the non-turbo)

While I wait for my kit I am going to get my HG done and just overhaul my cooling system. Truck only has 162K miles on it and has been well cared for so I don't NEED to do the HG but better safe than sorry...

OR maybe I'll just keep the head gasket around for when it does finally blow. If I get the HG soon I will do it before. If it comes in similar time frame as the turbo might, then I will probably just save the HG for later. I will definitely stay in touch and post of my progress on here and let you guys know what my MPG/ other specs are.
