Funny you should mention that. I had to quickly head out to take that photo ahead of another rain shower. The tree shadow on the door bugs me though. Oh well.
^^^^those two photos....^^^^

I successfully test fitted a Ion Alloy 171-5883P on an FJ60 today. 15x8 with 3.44” backspace.

They are available in Polished (171-5883P), Matte Black (171-5883MB), and Black with Polished Lip (171-5883B). Link to website. Obviously the center caps don’t work on the front axle but would on the rear. They attached with allen head screws, not a slip through cap from the rear. I imagine you could cut/trim the caps to fit the front if desired.

Just wanted to add to this thread. I haven’t even priced the wheels. Just more options for us!

Good find

My wheel adventure -

Per a few posts way early in this thread I special ordered a set from US wheels with a 3.5 backspacing. I have had them for almost a year but haven't gotten around to posting.

I called US Wheels and confirmed that this wheel was available special order 17x8 with 3.5 backspacing. They confirmed and said they do special orders through summit racing. After a few phone calls and different sales reps at summit I found one that somewhat knew the process and told me he would research and get back to me. The next day he had the right form and took my order (part # USW-804-8860SPEC) and about 2 months later 5 boxes arrived on my doorstep. I ordered different center caps and found an online store overseas that made nice inserts. I don't have good closeup pics but can take/post some when I get home - you can kind see them on the side shot of my truck below. They also do custom orders and had them work up a version that would look similar colors of the stock rear wheel center cap. I liked the ones I ordered so I put them on. I also found some center caps for the front wheels that cover most of the manual hub but are open and make a really clean look. Similar to the ones available for the stock wheels. Model number below.

I wrapped them in 285/70R17 BFG KO2s.

@klinetime574 I have those Ions in matte black (or something very similar). The finish holds up nicely so far, the center cap is a little flimsy feeling and aesthetically doesn't match too well but not super visible in black.

Anyone tried these? If I’m reading it correctly, looks like a 17x8 wheel with 3.5” backspacing?

Haven't tried em, but they ought to fit fine. Unless you run a 295+ width the tires will likely sit just about flush with the qtr panels, and the fronts will be just a tad proud. Good fit IMHO.

Hello,

I didn't see any mention of it on your post, did these wheels require any spacer to allow clearance to the calipers?

Thanks

US Wheels Ratrod (series 68) 17x8 w/ BFG KO2s 285/70r17, load range C.

Are you running any spacers with this set up? Best I could find for my FJ60 was a 4.0" backspace for this rim... and MAN I love it...
I'd reckon you'd be wanting a .5" backspace... that true?
