Builds What's a Parts Guy to Do??

No real important updates on this truck. Hit a pretty big snag with the non-US 3F carb topper: It is too tall and won't allow the hood to shut. Also, the upper carby linkages hit the bottom of the topper. Not good. I have put an APB out on the correct 2F carby topper which is like hunting for the pink unicorn.... it's so unobtanium. :( Regardless, I've got a lot of good folks assisting and hopefully I will find one to complete the project.

Not sure how much room you need, but perhaps a small body lift would help? Realize that might not fit with your build concept, but just throwing it out there...

The PC'd wheels look stunning.

Onur. Send me a shot of what you're looking for exactly. I have a few of the parts off of my 2F sitting in my garage.

Would you mind sharing what color Grey was used on the wheels and whats the proper way
to dechrome the wheels.

Thanks

So is the Camry wagon getting a makeover next?

Still waiting to see this in the wild, looking good and thanks for the cat. Wife appropriated the mat for the plant shed. Likely gone forever.

My stock chrome steelies were sold and I decided to get these from my good friend Steve M. who is going back to OEM FJ40 steelies.

I like this color A LOT. :) I mounted and balanced my KM2 spare and the remainder will be installed next Friday.

Ok - that's it - pulling my wheels off, breaking them down, back to the powder coating shop. They look great - color is perfect - and I hate you.

Onur, any chance of you making some type of spread sheet with all of the part numbers you have used in your build? I have glanced thru your thread and see a ton of stuff I need. Maybe an index page to all of the parts used.

I have a lot of down time. I'll get right on it.

I hope to have something like this put together maybe by the fall. I just have very little time..... to do anything.... like even complete this build.

Small update:

Received the Standard Motor Parts Blower motor resister. What a piece of junk compared to the OEM unit.

Waste of $56 + shipping IMO. I would prefer to reuse the old, 30 year old unit. :meh:

The quality is obviously Chinese and significantly sub-par to the Toyota unit. The new unit has crappy plastic; the center portion moves in the housing and is not inserted correctly. The wires thinner and the weird ceramic stuff seems crappier too. Live and learn.

In other news, the heater core unit is a bear.

Lots of moving parts to clean, inspect and get correct. Oh, and if you break something, nothing is available new OEM, thus you are fawked.
