Mines a '77 ( 11-76 production date ). Have had in the past, a '67 ( my first, bought around '76, had a V8 ), a '66 FST ( stupid me, got tired of the I-6/ 3 on the tree setup, and traded it off), a '74 with some engine parts from Downey Toyota ( when Jim Sickles was still in the OLD building ). Live and learn I guess. Al

My fj40 was made in 66' and sold in 67'. That makes me and my cruiser the same age.

What year did they add dash pads?

1966, a far cry from a '70s cruiser.

Pretty unscientific, as has been pointed out. Whatever. Were there '62 40s, or did they start in '63?

Average cruisers per year represented by poll takers.

29% - 24 - 74
23% - 19 - 78
17% - 14 - 76-77
13% - 11 - 75
9% - 7.5 - 65-73
7% - 6 - 79-83 (skewed a tiny bit by guys with '84s)
2% - 2 - 63-65

I divided the number of responses to a category by the number of years represented by that category.

I've only got a BS in Math, but I think the percentages are a mud member's average likelyhood of owning a cruiser from one of the years in the corresponding category, based on the results of the poll.

What's interesting is that more than half of us have '74s and '78s, and 7/10 have a '74-'78.

If you've got a nice '63-'65, park it in the garage with a dehumidifier. It's rare. Duh, I guess.

With logic like that, you ought to go into politics!

My 64 may be rare, but it's not going into the garage anytime soon! Expect to see it at PMC next year!;p
