Thanks to @CenTXFJ60 for walking me through a transfer case issue over the phone today and reminding me not to forget about the diagrams in the FSM. All sorted now.

While the work happened on a street in Denver, it was really Jimmy’s barn in spirit.
 
Next to zero action in the barn since July. Decided to help out a friend in Wimberly on a 60 (my favorite color BTW) he’s working on for a truck owned by @zeeklafreek. It needed a headliner refurb. I’m not the fastest but do enjoy jobs like this and both parties understood I could not be under any time constraints as my new in-home care business is demanding 7 days a week from me. I’m guessing it took me 3ish weeks to sneak in 18 hours actual work time to remove the windows, trim, headliner, dash, old insulation…then install thermozite, new headliner, glue/trim, install glass, dash, grab handles, sun visors, rear view mirrors and cut in two dome lights. I might be missing a few things. Here’s pics. Pretty pleased with how it came out.

One thing I do know is Cruiser corps has some quality issues in seamstress work. The headliner I removed had installation issues and was unusable. It was a cruiserCorp liner installed by a upholstery shop. But things I noticed around pillar alignment were similar to the new liner shipped to my house that I installed. With a headliner, you anchor the back and then the front. Then you start trimming and glueing from the back to the front. On the drivers quarter window both headliners barely reached the inside of the pinch weld prior to trimming. That’s not good but made it work. Then both C-pillars barely made the rear pinch weld and had about 3” overhanging on the front side of the c-pillar (see pic). On the front the drivers side a-pillar had a similar issue. The passenger side did not. Not knocking them as the product is beautiful and durable. Sent pics and some constructive feedback to the owner of CC but no reply. Hopefully it helps them with quality control and make some adjustments.

Seriously nice work here Jim. Beyond pro level. It’s a difficult job already, and not made any easier with the product issues. But I’m grateful you posted about it, so I know what to look for when I start mine - mine is a CC headliner as well.

An 80 series mirror would be a nice and affordable upgrade over the crusty 60 series mirror, plus it's a direct swap. We've made this switch in both of our FJ60s.

Forgot to add that the 80 series mirror is marginally larger than the 60 series so this gives you a slightly better view of the traffic that's stacked up behind you on a 2 lane road with very limited passing opportunities.

I like your idea. When mine is ambulating again I definitely need to have non-shakes mirrors.
Was eyeing the 70 series ones.
 
I found the 60 mirror on partsouq but the 80 isn't available, will try cityracer.
Cruiser TEQ has the 70 series for $65 ea right now. Best price I’ve seen.
