... This is for the SC guys... What say you guys?

Running 3.2
Have both 3.0 and 2.8 to test/run with but not sure I would attempt without meth injection.

NLXTACY, how do I test those pulleys without running the risk of detonation? Again being apprehensive of engine damage....

There is also a 2.6" that fits, but it requires some trimming on the snout of the input housing. Think it is just the gussets. Obviously the smaller the pulley, the more incentive to run meth/water injection.

3.0 with methanol injection.

Dan, I've gotten perhaps a bit confused... how did you adjust the timing on your rig after you installed the meth injection? Did you adjust to 3 degrees, or did you do something different? Is is wise / possible to advance the timing beyond 3 degrees with an SC / meth setup?

The timing was set/checked in the normal fashion. IE terminals TE1 and E1 shorted at the data link and set timing to 3 degrees BTDC (stock spec) with a timing light.

Thanks cdan. I've figured it out, bought Wit's End's paper clip, and took a look at the timing on my SC at baseline. Turns out I was running nearly 10 deg...! No codes, but that probably wasn't good for the engine. I adjusted it back to stock / 3 deg.

Anyway, next step is to go for the meth injection and smaller pulley wheels.....

So I put in the order for a 3.0 and 2.8" pulleys. Here are the measurements I took for the stock pulley:
3.2" pulley
6 grooves
0.32" offset
0.64" SC shaft diameter

Whoops- I need to clarify:

Here are the full measurements, now confirmed with Pulley Boys, on the stock pulley-

There used to be. IIRC the gussets on the housing needed to be trimmed down a bit for clearance. It has been several years since I researched this .

I have a 2.6 pulley. I bought it already machined from Photoman a couple years back. It's wicked sounding and goes like stink when it's cool out. New radiator and blue hub fan clutch. I put the pulley in about 4 months ago. I am very judicious on the skinny pedal in heat. I've got a meth system on the way and an ultra gauge.

Different supercharger on ROOBY but when I was playing with boost, I just machined the pulley down in the lathe to the size I wanted.

Ground a cutting tool to the v belt groove required.

I ended up with 11 psi, but I also had a rising rate fuel reg, bosch 040 fuel pump, and a microtech ecu as a piggyback to control fuel and spark with 2 maps, 1 for 91 octane fuel and one for 98 octane with a Safari intercooler behind the grille.

was just under 300hp and 520 ft lb at the back wheels with 4.56 gears, being auto, on 37s.

What is the limit on a non-meth, non-Southwest rig. In winter I'm tempted to drop down to 3" pulley..

for the OBDII guys I wouldn't worry too much if you are still running the stock fueling system.

From my testing a NA truck during WOT has an AFR of 13.0:1 and at 5000 rpms around 40* of advance.

That all changes once the ECU sees more air than what theoretically a NA truck could ever see.

With a 3.2" pulley under the same condition I was seeing an AFR of 10.0:1 and at 5000 rpms around 20* of advance.

I've solved the timing pull and some of the fueling and ran all last winter with 87 oct without issue but did have to step up to 91 oct when the summer heat came in along with some knock.

Thanks. Would you feel comfortable with a 3" pulley under the same conditions (just high octane), no meth?

I'd definitely give it a shot and pay attention to my MPGs. The first thing I noticed when my truck started to knock was a drop in MPGs. The knock sound really wasn't that pronounced like I use to hear in my old V8s.
