I took the last week off from work and painted my 40. It has been 8 years since I bought it and tore it all down. Now, to put it together and buy all new weather stripping.

I used 6' of 0.08" weed eater line to reinstall the rear hatch window… I didn't have the right kind of rope laying around, and I found the almost unbreakable line worked great.

Installed a new radiator. Got new wiring, rebuilt ft and rear thirds with ARBS and 4:56 gears built by marlin crawler in the mail.

Installed an SOR bikini top - ready for the warm weather!

Drove it to work just once this week - got totally pestered for 45 minutes at a gas station trying to get some fuel in it , may have to re-think trying to use this thing for a DD , it attracts too much attention . Don't think I've ever answered so many questions at one time ...from 4 people at once .

It's not like that ALL the time. Sooner or later, you'll have talked to everyone on the routes.

Worked on painting the foot well area after the ingress of clutch fluid ruined the paint down there.
Will spray it with Dupli-Color Toyota Yellow (#541) which is not a perfect match, but a close-enough low cost solution for a low visibility area.

Installed the Dash Box I bought over three years ago. I needed to move the gauges the PO stuck on the upper dash pad mount.

A bit of an improvement from when I bought her off of the PO. :D

Still a long way to go yet.

10 months after rescuing this 40 with a blown F, cheesy wheels and seats, I drove her around the block, donor 2F purring...
As so many have said...driving them is the best motivation of all.

I replaced the weather stripping on all the doors and the door window seals.
Never want to tackle that again.
