Where did you get the flexible air hose for the air cleaner assembly?

Pablo let do some looking, there is a member in OK City that sells them

Very curious myself about your build. What does a guy budget for something like that?

I had a spare motor out of a wreck that I've been pieceing together the last couple years. I probably have around $ 2500
or so in the whole project with the awesome new carb, new clutch, parking brake rebuild, ect, ect.

I got a little more tube work done on my Project! Still a lot more to add but its a step closer :)

74 FJ40L.

Replaced front differential pinion oil seal thing. Followed some good instructions on YouTube. Hoping that cured my front differential leak, I've got gear oil everywhere.
Going to leave it in 4wd Hi for a few miles to let the new gear oil soak in.

What do you mean, "soak in"?

Replaced the front drive shaft seal in my transfer case. If you lay a 10mm open end wrench flat against the output shaft and pry on it a cheater pipe, the old seal will pop right out.

Hi All,

Decided to replace the engine and transmission mounts on my '74 FJ40 with a 2F and H41.

The first pic is of the replacement mount set. These are the newer style of engine mounts, like used on FJ60s. The transmission mounts attach at the bell housing.

The second photo is how the transmission mount looks.

The third photo is of the old transmission mount "pucks."

Regards,

Alan

Hi All,

Here is a photo comparing the thickness of the old, collapsed transmission "puck" to the new replacement.

This second pic shows the old engine mounts (which are the old style from the 1960/70s.) As you can see, one of these engine mount had split in half!

Unfortunately (or, fortunately, in this case) I discovered this in photo three. :frown: It is good, since I was suppose to go 'wheeling and this could have been veeery bad! :grinpimp:

Regards,

Alan

Can you pm me what you did please? I'm rebuilding an 87 2f for my LX and am planning to do exactly what you did but it would be great to chat to someone with experience. Did you get it all done in Oregon?

Josh - I thought you were planning on a 12ht?
