No fun here. I only had a couple hours to spend on it, and I got it this far with a heat gun, a paint scraper and a little bit of flap disc on the grinder.
drove her a total of 2000+ miles in the last week, just got back to Oregon yesterday from visiting family down in california (LA)for the holidays. other then some fouled plugs due to bad valve stem seals nothing went wrong, she just hummed along at 55MPH i even averaged 15MPGl lol
some snow pics, i drove through the sierra nevada mountain range
Fabbed some rear seat brackets for the TJ seat I picked up. Pretty srue they are sturdy enough... Next week ill install the retracting seat belts and we will be ready to rock! Happy New Year.
'91 4runner,
That is a good looking Cruiser. I'm not a fan of those wheels on a 4Runner or 80, but they look good on your 40.
What size are the lights on your windshield hinges? I like the size. Any info on the brand/power? Do you get a lot of reflection off the hood or fenders? Thanks
The original 2F in her now has pretty low compression numbers and a lot of piston blow by. I'm putting together another 2F long block with a higher compression ratio, RV grind cam, and balance job. All this and a swap to a Trollhole carb should have her running pretty sweet!
I spent about an hour at the hardware store finding misc screws and bolts. Zinger's in Austin seems to have decent selection of JIS screws. There not exact matches, but close enough for now.
