The season is finally over and we are in the days where we dont see people on the beach so I decided to take the Hasselblad and fj40 out for a photoshoot. View attachment 3499241View attachment 3499242

“Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air -
The summer's out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not home”…..😎

Getting my ignition switch installed. Also here is the way my highlift jack is installed. I’m on the hunt for the pins to hold it to the stepboard. Also have to order those rubber holders, as it did not come with those here in Colombia.

There seems like a million and one uses for a high lift jack! I pull T posts with mine, stretch fence wire, break tire beads and on an on, a great tool to have on your FJ or just in your shed for work around the property.

Now you are supposed to touch it to make sure it is hot or at least that was required when I was a kid. Leaves a nice series of circles on the tip of your finger.
Too true! That's a right of passage.
My wife tells a story of playing in the family car, her sister popped the cigarette lighter in, when it popped out, she offered it to my wife, then a 4-year-old and said "It smells funny!". She leaned in to smell it and her sister touched it to the tip of her nose! Needless to say, my wife screamed and her sister began the search for a switch, because she knew what was coming next from the first parent to find out what happened.

These are the 17inch FJ Cruiser steelies. Will I need spacers for these. Planning to run. 10.5 inch wide tire.
Thanks, I had to get spacers on my FJ43. I'm running the steelies with 265/65/17's. They look great.

Your rig looks great. A note of caution if you don't mind... There have been issues reported here with wheel spacers coming loos and wreaking havoc. Hence, there are quite a few detractors. It might not be a bad idea to breakout a bottle of red Loctite. ;)

Had a stock wheel powder coated white and bought one 35x10.5x15 mud hog tire to check to see if I had enough clearance and liked the look. This took place back in October. Thanks to @mattressking and @EWheeler for trying them out and getting it out there. Even though I’ll probably won’t do anything extreme I look the look of it. Excuse the messy garage. Also I wanted to compare the black to white wheels. I initially liked the black but the white makes it pop out.

The white looks right. Sweet looking 40, love that color. Is this a restoration, or original paint truck that is immaculate?

Where did you buy the 35x10.5x15? I'd buy a set for my 60 if I could find them...

It’s a restoration but the original color. I hade the back side of the gas tank cover scanned for the color code since it’s wasn’t exposed to the elements. When I had the gas tank cover painted I told the guy not to paint the back side of it. Thanks as well

Priority tire. They are out of stock for now and eBay sellers as well. I spoke with green ball who makes the tire and they said check back in January and they should be it stock. It’s a really good price on the tires for what your getting.

Also they have it listed as a 35x10.00 but it’s actually a 10.5

Great idea @Green Bean. I read those forums and have been mindful. Will do it this weekend. Thanks

Thanks for that advice. I'll lock tire blue my front wheel nuts. Mine are only 1/4" I think and mount on the factory studs all the way through the rim.

We did 3.5 hour drive from Bogotá to Villa de Leyva yesterday to experience the start of the Christmas season here in Colombia 🇨🇴. It was a great opportunity to shakedown the Land Cruiser. We made it safely with no surprises. Enjoy a few pictures. Seasons Greetings!
