That looks like an amazing, albeit expensive, HAM Radio mount. ;)
Back inThe 1980’s there was a man I’d met in our local club, W2GSA who was a county hunter and had been doing it for many years. He had a few thousand contacts across the US and all of Vermont except for Franklin county. My new in-laws lived in Franklin county, Vt. I had only a Yaesu transceiver and a load of wire so my wife and I drove up to visit them. I used this giant radio planted on the console of an old Volvo as a mobile with a 20m dipole and made the contact for him.

WHYD to your Cruiser this week?
Grill update for my BJ40. Removed the grill mesh with the emblems attached. Spent several hours stripping and cleaning many years of dirt, grime and old repaint touch ups from the emblems. I masked off the Toyota lettering and then spray painted the grill and shoulders of the Toyota emblem with black spray paint. The chrome letter trim and letter infill areas were taped off for this stage of painting. After painting the grill and shoulders of the letters black, I removed the masking tape and proceeded to layer in Testors red paint on the Diesel letters of the emblem. I used a syringe with a 22 gauge needle. It worked very well. For the Toyota emblem I mixed a combination of beige and pale yellow Testors paint in order to achieve a warm gloss yellow tone. I then layered the paint in to the lettering. The end result turned out great. Next step is to seal everything with an acrylic clear coat.

Stripped the BTB bumper of all the powder coat and painted it satin nickel. Mounted the 8274 on it and bolted it to the '76, then spooled up 100' of 3/8" rope. Have to get longer bolts for the hawse.

Looks great. I noticed the case of brake clean, can never have too much of that around.
Thanks. I keep brake clean stocked up. Best hand cleaner out there. :hillbilly:

Did you buy those recently or did you already have them. I need to find a pair.

I placed an ad in the classified section here and a member responded, he had a nice rust free pair for what I felt was a good price. My originals were completely rotted away.

After I had bought those a few others contacted me too with some doors so you might try running an ad , they may still have them.

I've had very good luck sourcing parts here. Thanks to : Edmond (doors), Kevos ( ashtray) and Rigger (running board supports) !!!

Started to actually wire in the new ECU. Had to get the fenders and bib off to give me better access to the engine.

Hi Dylan,

I have this stuff from a 1979. The two I have came off my truck but both have a black rubber boot. I would suspect they are the same as yours. I'll send you everything pictured if you pay shipping. Let me know. I saved this stuff bc I knew in the future someone would need it that is not desmogged.
