It does, oil pressure relief valve should keep it at 70 or below.80 PSI for the oil sounds too high!!
Is it 80 psi on the factory gauge? Could it just be a difference in sending unit vs cluster year?Yea I was going to give it a few miles to see if it comes down. Does the oil filter/cooler adapter have a relief valve it also? This is my first go around with a 2F and a later model at that.
I'm happy with "any" oil pressure.80 PSI for the oil sounds too high!!
Boat - I'm not sure exactly what the pressure is in PSI, but my 85 2F reads towards the 2nd tick on the gauge. 8 years since the rebuild and install, still reading about the same. If I recall correctly, the original 77 2F oil pressure was at the 1st tick.Yea I was going to give it a few miles to see if it comes down. Thats on a mechanical gauge. The factory gauge is in the middle of 2nd and 3rd mark now that's on a 69 instrument cluster and running a 69 sending unit. I checked and the electrical sending units were same part number. Is it 80 psi on the factory gauge? Could it just be a difference in sending unit vs cluster year?
It would be interesting to put a mechanical gauge on that. That does give me a little relief seeing yours.Boat - I'm not sure exactly what the pressure is in PSI, but my 85 2F reads towards the 2nd tick on the gauge. 8 years since the rebuild and install, still reading about the same. Today after it reached temp (180) at idle it came down to about 65-70 as soon as the rpms pick up it's back at 80My oil pressure goes to 68 on start-up.
18 years on this rebuild, makes me very happy.

I have a mechanical gauge on mine also, it runs 70-80 psi.Yea I was going to give it a few miles to see if it comes down. Does the oil filter/cooler adapter have a relief valve it also? This is my first go around with a 2F and a later model at that.
I just recently did the same thing. Also bought a bumper.Took advanatge of the Toyota 25% sale and picked up some parts. Shipping in from Florida but saved me a ton. Things like Front Bumper (52111-60030) came out to $115 shipped.

That's great info thanks. Thats the plan for now, It ain't broke so running it for now.I have a mechanical gauge on mine also, it runs 70-80 psi.
Unlike the government motto, I believe if it ain't broke no reason to fix it.
Mine runs at the first tick as wellIs that bad??? 1st tick? I mean really? No Dakar rally this year for me???? OK, I'm going SBC as soon as I can find a reasonable tractor with a good heartbeat...![]()
