Got it running!! It's a 84 2F from a 60 and the oil pressure is at 80 psi what do ya think!!

80 PSI for the oil sounds too high!!
It does, oil pressure relief valve should keep it at 70 or below.
But, it's freshly alive so let's not worry about that as yet.
Yea I was going to give it a few miles to see if it comes down. Does the oil filter/cooler adapter have a relief valve it also? This is my first go around with a 2F and a later model at that.

Is it 80 psi on the factory gauge? Could it just be a difference in sending unit vs cluster year?
I'm happy with "any" oil pressure.
Mine runs fine right at somewhere in the middle of the gauge, God willing

Boat - I'm not sure exactly what the pressure is in PSI, but my 85 2F reads towards the 2nd tick on the gauge. 8 years since the rebuild and install, still reading about the same. If I recall correctly, the original 77 2F oil pressure was at the 1st tick.

Thats on a mechanical gauge. The factory gauge is in the middle of 2nd and 3rd mark now that's on a 69 instrument cluster and running a 69 sending unit. I checked and the electrical sending units were same part number.
It would be interesting to put a mechanical gauge on that. That does give me a little relief seeing yours.
Today after it reached temp (180) at idle it came down to about 65-70 as soon as the rpms pick up it's back at 80

I have a mechanical gauge on mine also, it runs 70-80 psi.
Unlike the government motto, I believe if it ain't broke no reason to fix it.

Installed a few goodies yesterday and today. Lights are still flickering even after the new alternator. What should I look at next the voltage regulator?
I took it for a short ride today. It did good at 65 to 70 on a long up hill. here is some pics of the oil pressure gauges at hwy speeds 65-70mph. After that at idle the pressure came down to about 55 to 60 so it's good to go I feel.
