many thanks, i bought the stock ones already but seeing black makes me want to buy more. These appear to be identical to the 95402 except black. 12 1/4 in length. I got them from Partsouq for 13.50ea. They currently have only one in stock. Buy them when ordering something else to “bundle” on the shipping.View attachment 2768961

Removed spare tire carrier and added shims to raise swing carrier to clear latch. Two grade 8 washers added to each hinge sandwiching OEM washer for a total of 3 per hinge. This raised the carrier up just enough for the bottom to clear the latch and allow for a secure closure. Unfortunately, for some reason I could not get the carrier to close all the way with the OEM spare tire rubber bumper so I had to remove it and use a strip of neoprene as a cushion.Looks awesome
Found an oil leak in my 55 that has been bugging me for a while. Weap hole in the fuel pump leaked oil especially at highway speeds.
New fuel pump and 4 shocks was a fun way to spend the day.

How much gasoline got in the crankcase?
No gas in the oil, as far as I can tell.
Cool, can you tell me more about Valley Hybrids and the trans swap? I've mostly been dealing with $pecter...

Gave it a workout. Drove to the Tobacco Lake trailhead in southern Colorado for a hike to the summit of Conejos Peak, elevation 13,172 feet. My wife and I had the entire Saddle Creek drainage and Conejos Peak all to ourselves on a beautiful August afternoon. Photos show our '76 FJ40 in its native habitat and a fantastic summit view looking NW towards an even higher peak - Summit Peak at far left is 13,300 feet. That climb is next on our agenda, probably the week after Labor Day.
