My 78 had a newer Jensen deck in it that required the dash to be cut a little, so the oem radio delete plate wasn't an option. A sheet of 1/8" abs, a hacksaw and a little mounting tape and the Jensen is history. Now I just need to install the door panels when they come in (holes in those too ... thanks PO) and find a nice little bluetooth speaker to sit on top of the dash. No need for great sound in this thing ... just some tunes will do.

I use Ultimate Ears Boom 3 & Megaboom 3 for tunes. Good enough sound-they’re competing with 35’s, healthy exhaust and topless cruiser. They have excellent battery life and they’re water/dust proof. My son likes to test the water claim and it’s true.

Four patches and some rust converter can save this one!

I had this tool bag which came with a partial set original tools that I purchased for a good price and I often wonder how I could use it. It dawned on me when I opened my glove box today,to a mess of wires, that I could store my winch control and glove box light in it. Its the little things that make you happy right?
Glove box is tidy.

The tub is off. I’m going to remove the existing transmission and transfercase and test fit the 40 series H55F to settle once and for all whether the late model transmission access panel and bell housing must be modified. The the tub is getting an acid bath before rust repairs.

The only time I think the bellhousing needs to be modified is for 10/85+ H55F with the different front bearing retainer with the two oil channels. If your using a crossmember and L brackets the clutch slave cylinder needs to be addressed. Plan to use a braket from 8/80+ clutch slave cylinder that is either drilled to except the larger motor mount bolts or inserts to reduce the size of the bolted used.

Think you will find the floor will be touching or extremely close on the left front corner.

The first photo is of the mating surface input shaft on the 5 speed. The second photo is of a extra 2F bell housing. The third photo is of the bell housing currently mounted to my engine. I will not have to modify my bell housing based on what I see. Tomorrow I mate the H55F for test fit

I will be raising the body 1/2" for that reason. My hope is that I do not need to modify the transmission access cover. I will know by Saturday afternoon.

So....to be politically incorrect. Your posts with all the "beauties" lined up reminds me of some visits to "gentlemen's clubs where all the pretties are paraded for viewing. Both make my socks roll up and down.
