how do you transport your boards on your rig?Summer rain shower brought some nice cool temps..... girl hasn’t been out all week so away we go! Stopped by a quiet cove my wife and I put our boards in.........

Took the top off For summer and this year finally got around to welding up a legit lighted license plate holder. No more zip ties.

Installed tail light guards thanks to the generosity of @Hoperichb who did not need them. Tapped the M8 frame nuts and installed perfectly to protect my OEM tail light assembly. Now when pulling out of my stone driveway I’m not cringing.

Waiting for my thermostat parts to arrive, decided to install the freshly powdercoated tailgate.....now I'm thinking I should have done gloss black to match the OEM license plate holder - instead of satin black

No build thread, I should have started one.......
The tailgate looks OEM but I'm sure it's not, however it is metal. I had a pair of 74 barn doors that I was going to fab up but a Mud member was looking to sell/trade for the earlier doors and we made it work out. I did some research to locate the manufacturer of it but, the closest I find is it "resembles" a real steel tailgate? It's not thin like a CCOT tailgate, it's very heavy. Maybe another member has some insight?
Found these alongside 101 in Lincoln City, OR. Waiting to be restored. Wish they were mine or at least the 40.
I believe that is this place Toyota Land Cruiser Restoration at Restored FJ40 I’ve seen those the last time I was up there
The kids went to watch the sunset. I remember when they were younger, they called cruisers in stock form , ugly cars. A few years later with a few mods and camping trips they say they’ll never sell them. It helps that all of the boys think they’re cool.

I believe that’s a Real Steel bolt on tailgate. They also make a replica of the original that uses hinges and latches.
Ja, same people. I went to the workshop but being Saturday only one guy there. He said they had had a lot of almost finished vehicles there the week before but they had been moved to their other shop. There was however a gorgeous red and white pig just finished paint and waiting for finish. If all their work is like that then WOW.
