Been on a spending spree past few weeks. Got the belts I needed. RagginMatt gave me some ideas on cleaning them up a bit—-I won’t restore them however— will use them pretty much as they are.

Sounds familiar. Are your beers all 3.2% too or are there other sacrifices? :flipoff2:

No, not a chance of 3.2, if it was I’d drink Jameson year round!

We have a local brewery every 300 yards so it seems. All of them have great local brews.

Meanwhile, in Cecil County - we finally passed a law that will ALLOW for breweries. There are a couple giving it a try, but my guess is with all the great options in Delaware and PA, the northern MD brewery movement is a lost cause.

Still trying to convince the wife to get off the east coast!

While you have had almost 24" of rain in since July 1st, we haven't had a lick of measurable precipitation in the same period. I was back there a couple of weeks ago and almost choked to death on the humidity!

The worst part about leaving last time was knowing I had to drive through Ohio!

Buckeyes.

Potholes big enough to eat a Prius, never ending road construction, and rust.

Wish I could say that I did, but I didn't. Tried to get the pins out of the door hinges to replace the bushes. Bloody hell what a pita.

Well, as I mentioned in @overton classifieds thread, I’ve been chasing (not hard) an electrical issue that left my DD45 without headlights twice in the last couple of weeks.

The light bulb finally went off in my head: WAIT! I had this same problem in Ruftoys 30 something years ago. Ended up putting a jump fuse over the stock fuseblock to prove it to myself, then changed out the fuse block. Haven’t had the problem since.

Hmmm. Fuse block in the 45 is 54 years old. That’s a pretty good haul. So I pulled an NOS 6 panel block off the shelf ( it’s nice to own the store:grinpimp:) and got to work. Cleaned the firewall once the old panel was out. Laid the blocks side by side.

Hmmm. New block feeds opposite to the old one. I guess I could mount it upside down. But then the cover would be upside down. Or I could pull back the tabs and flip the board.

OR... I could just take a shot at cleaning the old one up!. After all, it’s pre cowl vent, so it hasn’t had moisture dripping on it from broken cowl vent tubes. And it is a 45 which has had a hardtop on it for virtually all its life. What the heck. Pull out the carb detailing tools and get to work. Virtually all the cad plating was still there.

Two hours later:

Getting back to tech: It has been almost 6 years since JDC1 and I brought home the 12/68 40. Never thought it would go so deep in bringing her back, nor take so long. Long list and few pics, I hate computers. But maybe I can get Jesse to help me a bit for an update post. this 40 will go out for ice cream for the first time in mid September. The start of the story is in my thread. Not sure whether to start a new one or update the old.

I'm pushing 6 years on my own build and I haven't even done a stitch of bodywork yet. I feel your pain!
