Bent and welded an ugly but (hopefully) effective fan shroud with clearance at the bottom for the Saginaw steering shaft and the lower radiator hose. Not exactly a work of art, but pretty please given it was bent between a couple of 2x4’s, flanged with vice grips, and body worked with a dead-blow mallet.
Still debating dropping to a 17” fan - made clearance as wide as I could on my current 18” fan, but still only have a bit over a half inch between the shroud and the blades. As you can see, I ran out of space to make the hole any bigger...
Next I figured out my power steering hose routing to and from the cooler. To the perceptive person who will chime in - yes, I had high pressure and low pressure reversed in the picture - I fixed it.
And lastly, I created more work for myself.
PSA - when your bib isn’t bolted in, and your futzing around with hose placement, keep your headlights away from the tow hooks!
