Applied fender flares from SOR. PO cut the rear wheel wells and I needed something to cover up their mess.
I opted to use 3m molding adhesive instead of the screws. View attachment 1677345

Knuckle rebuild. She's fighting me every step of the way. If it's not the upper cap, it's the lower cap. Then my 54mm socket was too shallow to reach the inside nut and the list goes on and on. Having a blast though.

There's no beer like Oregon beer...

The most breweries.. the best brews. The fj40 beer is dead guy...

Replaced the rear spring bushings, they were reduced to granola. First time to work on my own suspension. I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I should never let someone else work on my truck, no matter how daunting the task and lack of experience.

The retaining bolts for the pins were way too long and had run through the bushing flange and all the way into the springs. I know, nice. Takes a second to use the correct hardware.

We have color!!! shot the firewall, cowl, dash and rear fender wells. The rest of the floor will be tinted raptor liner. Tranny hump will be glossy as well.
Camera doesn't pick up the blue, looks more grey in the pics. LOVE this color.
Its my version of Horizon Blue.

What tbi system did you use?

Any write up on it??

I'm going to install a howell system in the next couple months.

I put it together following Downey's instructions. I was going to make a harness, but found a Howell harness and computer on ebay. I modified it to have computer controlled spark advance rather than the vacuum advance. I figured if I was adding a computer I wanted to take full advantage of it.

I'll start a write up this week on the install since I know from my own research it would be nice for more information.

Hit my shop door with my Toy.

I keep my Cruiser in my work shop that has swinging barn doors.

It was colder than kraut so I just opened the doors with out bothering to latch them open and jumped into the Toy and pulled in.

A gust of wind caught the left door and it swung in hitting the left side of the Cruiser somewhere near the rear tire bending the siht out of the door and tearing it half off the hinges.

I looked all over but couldn't find any new marks on my rig so spent the next few hours in the blankety blank cold rebuilding the blankety door.

Shot the raptor tinted liner on the inside floors!

Then for fun I assembled one of the running boards. First time I've built one of the older versions.
You can see the true blue color much better on the running board pics.

You're actually planning to STEP on those nice running boards?

This has always been my constant dilemma - I'm afraid I'll make my truck so pretty I won't want to touch it. Hopefully you don't share the same disease - because yours is looking great!

Bent and welded an ugly but (hopefully) effective fan shroud with clearance at the bottom for the Saginaw steering shaft and the lower radiator hose. Not exactly a work of art, but pretty please given it was bent between a couple of 2x4’s, flanged with vice grips, and body worked with a dead-blow mallet.

Still debating dropping to a 17” fan - made clearance as wide as I could on my current 18” fan, but still only have a bit over a half inch between the shroud and the blades. As you can see, I ran out of space to make the hole any bigger...

Next I figured out my power steering hose routing to and from the cooler. To the perceptive person who will chime in - yes, I had high pressure and low pressure reversed in the picture - I fixed it.

And lastly, I created more work for myself.

PSA - when your bib isn’t bolted in, and your futzing around with hose placement, keep your headlights away from the tow hooks! :bang:

I fixed an oil leak. My pan was leaking at the drain from a dimple in the area of the slot. After cleaning and roughing up the surface, I used JB Weld to build up the area and then sanded it back down flat. A little fresh paint, and no more leak.
