Not too bad, that brings the average price per part for you down to $185 per. ;)

Air cleaner is out of the 40 for a sand blast and repaint. It's been too cold here to paint so it sits on my tool box in it's primer waiting for warm weather (coming this weekend)

Had a list and checked it twice buying parts as I went along. Then when I had everything together I started.

First was the heater. I removed the blower. It left a big hole in the firewall.

So I fabricated a plate from some 1/8" aluminum I had laying around. This was my first real attempt to fabricate something and I believe it turned out well. After all, it was only a flat plate and even I could do that.

Next step was to install a Vintage Air heater and controls. I like the way it tucks up out of the way and the wiring was easy to understand.

I contacted a plastics company and they are making adaptors so the stock defrost hoses will mount to the heater itself. That will make a cleaner install
I didn't like the 30 amp fuse that was supplied with the heater so I bought a waterproof 30 amp breaker off ebay.

I do need to clean up the wiring and paint some of the scratches but for the most part I am finished with the heater. I can attest the blower speeds and heat output far exceeds anything my 40 ever had and the defrost has a strong force as well.

Next was
a Pro Comp 2 1/2" lift kit. I managed to get the rear done but it about killed my back laying on the concrete floor so I am taking it to a shop to have the front springs installed Friday. I also got the Pro Comp tires mounted to the US Wheel spoke wheels.

The dash board looked kind of sad sine I wasn't able to buy the full lower dash pad several years ago so I was left with this hole.

This is what I came up with. Found the illuminated switches on ebay and since the truck outline was a 40 I thought it was a natural. I had the switch box fabricated and I had to cover it with the fake material to hide the errors.

The sharp eyed readers will see no balance weights on the wheels. The shop that mounted the wheels used balance bags and I can say for a fact that work very well. The Pro Comp tires do sing a bit but nothing bad.

@Matti A 2 1/2" lift on 33x12.50R15 Pro Comp tires. Actually raised the rear 3 1/16" from where it was.

@kbahus What photos would you like?

I have been running that heater for a couple of years now. Very happy with the swap. I had to replace the temp switch / reastat after it failed on a very cold morning. Apparently the internals don't move well at sub-zero temps. Replacement is less than $10 so I ordered two directly from Vintage Air.

Thank you Chief! Its all your fault! LOL:rofl:
