Haven't started on the "hole-remediation" project on mine yet. My dash has 13 or 14 holes to weld up, depending on whether I install a Vader light switch or not. Pretty certain the Vader switch was not original on my '64 FST, but since the hole is already there I think I'll do it.

Then on top of that, 62 holes on the outside of the tub, 17 in the windshield frame, 2 in the hood, 2 in right front fender and 3 in the bib. Most are small holes that won't require a patch, but there are so many of them... :bang:

The Vader light was original for my 69' FST--I have the light but not the cover. Anyway, if you decide not to install the Vader light on your rig, I would like to buy it (if you want to sell it):):):). Will pay top dollar of course! Martin

Sorry, the Vader light will be installed whether or not I add the switch. Early FSTs got the light, but no switch. Mine will likely get a switch as well.

I had to ask of course given that the Vader light is unobtainium:frown:

Woohoooo--I have been looking at Ebay every day and the Darth Vader light just got listed--Okay, so I paid $350 for the buy it now price but I finally found it. Actually, I have the light-- I just needed the cover.

Those three holes that fire some reason I didn't notice until I sprayed primer got taken care of.

I used a cool backer tool to plug the welds. its magnetic and fits in tight spaces.

it was quick and easy one evening deal and also found a smashed spot that i didn't even know i had so i'm gonna order a new piece for that section

Actually, it depends on the year. Early 40s like my '64 it lives on the underside of the dash below the choke knob.

Yes for Oregon fj's year that is correct. Stupid money for some of these parts and I'm not even doing a restoration. I know something is seriously wrong with me but I have a feeling I have some company.

Thanks huckleberry! It’s a 68’ I finished in 05’.
Nice. My first vehicle when I was a kid was supposed to be a '68 GMC pickup, but my grandmother thought boys get into too much trouble in trucks. So... she passed down an old, rusted out '76 Ford Maverick with a blown straight-6 and bald tires. Thanks, grandma.

$350 for a Vader light? I should dig out the one I have and list it to see what it might bring.

Put it in a carpet lined crate and the sky is the limit. Dream big man..

List it and you will get at least $300 and quite possibly some knucklehead will pay $350 or maybe even higher

How was the Vader light listed?
