Some pix of work in process. Winch, water pump, belt, coil, wires, plugs, mats, Tuffy Boxes. I have KC Daylighters but not sure if there is room. Was thinking in front of tow hooks with an "L" mounting plate in front of bumper. Can always remove a light in off chance I need to use tow hook. Thoughts? Last pix is my pup saying "when are we going after birds?"

How long are your TRE threads? 1st photo looks like most of threads are exposed.

Thanks huckleberry! It’s a 68’ I finished in 05’.

Thought so... my dad bought me a ‘69 in high school - 3 on tree... I bitched about it not being ‘cool’

“I’d love to have that ole thing back again”!!!

Goose received a new set of rear shoes! Amazing how much of a difference there is once the backs are fully operationally and adjusted!

Got the 64 tub into (more) primer. This is the last finishing coat before paint. using Eastwoods contour primer. Its a polyester high build primer. like shooting bondo through a spray gun. Thick and heavy as hell.. Loving it. Going to also be laying down some seam sealer.

If all goes well, going to put color down tonight. floor boards and dash. maybe the firewall too.

My "version" of Horizon Blue.

@complacent one I’m right there with you at 5’ 8.5”. I still modified my seat mount for more room/comfort.

Ahh, we may need to chat later. I'm leaning toward a blue for my '64 FST as well. Maybe Horizon/Horizontal, maybe Cadet. Will be curious to see your take on Horizon.

Special gun needed for that sealer?

Yep I bought a cheap primer gun from Harbor. You need a minimum of 2mm tip. 2mm to 2.4mm is recommended. At 2mm it barely gets the job done. I have to boost the psi to get it to spray correctly. I also need to thin it about 10% with lacquer thinner. The stuff is just that thick. And spraying in cool weather like here in the PNW it takes a lot longerto cure. supposed to be 90 minutes at 70 degrees. I shot at about 58 degrees and it dramatically increased the cure time. (8 hours)

The moment you realize there's three damn Holes in your dash that need to be welded up. gah!!!

:D... I was wondering about the seam sealer - it looks like you have a regular caulk gun but I’m guessing it’s a special gun necessary to apply?

Haven't started on the "hole-remediation" project on mine yet. My dash has 13 or 14 holes to weld up, depending on whether I install a Vader light switch or not. Pretty certain the Vader switch was not original on my '64 FST, but since the hole is already there I think I'll do it.

Then on top of that, 62 holes on the outside of the tub, 17 in the windshield frame, 2 in the hood, 2 in right front fender and 3 in the bib. Most are small holes that won't require a patch, but there are so many of them... :bang:

oops. sorry I wasn't paying attention. :)

I just use a regular caulk gun. So far so good...
