Had that happen to me once, found that one of the wires connecting the points was touching the dizzy wall...just had to bend the connection it in a bit and then she fired right up. Not long after that I gave up on points and put a Mallory unilite kit in.....runs so much better now.

Had that happen twice on different cars. The first time it took a while to figure it out. Second time not quite as long. After running in circles for a few minutes it dawned on me. I learn from my mistake...I know exactly when I have done it wrong again.

I had some time today to take a peek at the upholstery shop, where they are working on the new front seats and the 4 rear seats of the Troopy.

The front seats they are doing it how the original upholstery was done, but rear seats i wanted to have a different pattern but related to the front seats instead of the original flat (boring) look.
Under you see how the bad copy redone upholstery (beige one) looked like and the right side (black one) the new one.

It’s just a universal central locking and keyless kit from A1 Electric. I think it cost about 100 bucks. I know that I opted to source Spal door switches separately though. They are also working like a champ:

Got a little distracted with other projects on the car this week but finished up my SM465 tonight. Used the Novak kit, fairly happy with it.

You wouldn't think bolting hinges back onto the tub would be such a mission.

Looks like you bolted the hinges on at the right time. I just did a rebuild on my 1978 FJ40LV-KCJA and forgot the hinges until after I installed the dash wiring harness and fuse block, hope it didn't take you hours like it did me! I did however find that Snap-on makes this 1/4" drive low profile socket wrench and sockets that really help once the bolts are in and you are at the adjustment phase.

Had to order up some silicone parts for the "fast and furious" look under the hood haha.

Also took it for a rip around the block to see how it drives not. Fully impressed and well worth the money. Its actually very quiet with only a downpipe on it. Havent got the exhaust done yet. I hope it doesnt quiet it much more i like the Spooling sound more then on my duramax

Hey guys, finally finished the driver side fl

OK, more updates with pics! Just saw the new floor posted today, wow. Wish I had the resources here to do that. Instead, I did the following.
An aluminium panel under the driver side installed, bolted galvanized angle iron to the side wall, started the galvanized support install as well.
My driver seat is already bolted behind into the aluminium tub, the front will bolt to the aluminium plate installed. The roll cage will bolt directly to the galvanized support and angle iron for one hell of a stable connection.
The last image is a detail of undercoat, simply because I LOVE undercoating, lol.

Nah its pretty simple and there's plenty of videos on YouTube for unilite and pertronix conversions. Think there's a few on mud too.

Found a spot to keep my antenna's when not being used. I used some of those Nite Ize wire twist tie things... these have a loop on one end so you loop it through itself then you can clamp down on the antennas. Nice and out of the way until needed.

On the backside of the roll bar, easy to access from the front or rear.

The 12" version was plenty to go around the roll bar, CB antenna and a HAM 2M/70cm antenna.

With nearly everything being black I think it will be pretty discreet when the bikini top is on and not as prone to having my antennas walk away.
