@GA Architect who says 6 in a row can't go!!! Have a great New Years Rick!

Got new tires last week so I had to paint my wheels and freshen up my front hubs. Also added passenger side illumination courtesy of Harbor freight and a free bee coupon.:hillbilly:

First day out of the shop and on the way home.
After a test drive found that Aqualu's provided transfer shifting lever cover knocks it into neutral, had to cut the transmission cover to provide more room for the linkage and manufacture a different cover. Timed it at 7DBTDC @650 rpm, felt like it was dialed in with the new Trollhole Carburetor. Five miles into the Seven for home started up an incline, top end of third and it loses all power and had to pump accelerator to keep the motor running, down shifted and kept it going. Got home and it wouldn't idle without the choke on, spitting and coughing. -5 degrees below zero, now adjustments will have to be made outdoors, no warm shop now. Could be fuel delivery, could be vacuum leak, trying to find diagrams of Trollhole carburetor with no luck so far, something to clear up questions for this non savvy carb guy "What does this adjusting screw do?" Sure feels nice driving a cruiser again!!

Wouldn't have been so pissed but, I had put bolts in every threaded hole and marked where the grommets were to go. Went over the whole damn tub. The guy says no problem we got it, we have plugs for those holes. Where the bolts were I should have put one on the reverse side also. You can't trust people to do a good job anymore, no matter what it is. Man it makes me mad as hell. I like to have had a stroke when we went to pick it up, they reduced the price so I took it.
I here you on that one! I physically watched everything they did and checked every hole before they sprayed. They were actually pretty happy I corrected them on some things.

Rebuilt my first transfer case!

Went well aside from the fact that my cleaning tub kept freezing over. Working in a ~20 degree garage is not ideal!

That said, 90 weight gear oil at 20 degrees is thicker than maple syrup and makes excellent assembly lube.

Added a pair of Cruiser Corp headlights, and threw in a set of The Retrofit Source H.I.D.'s and wow the difference! Added a jackcover to the hi-lift. Started powder coating the jack tools and they're holder. Pulled her out and drove her 60 miles and enjoyed the rest of my day

Still plucking the bird.....seats out , rollbar out, lower dash, lights off, hinges and door limiters off, kick vents, hood....it never ends.

Is there some secret to removing the defrost pieces on the windshield? I am afraid I am going to break something. I assume that will provide the access needed to remove the windshield wiper motor and assembly.

Several OEM parts will be posted for sale tomorrow. Seats, lights, pads, etc....

Haha - it’s definitely a concern. I actually wound up with pieces from 3 separate cases to make one good one...so I have dozens of “repeat” parts. As long as one of those repeats made it into the case, I should be good to go...I followed the FSM and checked my work so I hope I’m in good shape!

Do you have a picture of the wiring on the back of the instrument cluster? I used a aftermarket wiring harness, which now I regret, and things are all messed up. I thought i took pictures, but now can not find them.
Thanks,

To go along with the theme above...I'm a sucker for the Royal Oreo Blizzard:

Yep, the DQ just opened yesterday and I had to attend the Grand Opening. It's only 1/4 of a mile from my office!....(self control, my son, self control!)

But it was a great excuse to get off the couch from watching football & out enjoying my FJ40!

I should have taken a picture but it was -9 out. But I "had" to move the 40 to make room for the snowblower. So since I haven't driven it much the last month I decided to take it around the neighborhood and exercise the four wheel drive. Then I promptly questioned my decision after I saw all the snow that made its way into my rear sill.

Like a good responsible owner I blew it all out and then tucked it back into bed for who knows how long. The snow will be here forever if it stays this cold.

The 80 series is doing all the hard snow work. What a fantastic machine they are. Go get yourself one now before they are gone like the 40s.
