Actually the accident happened back on 28 July...
Wow. Just now seeing this. That's the same day a 110'+ tall tree fell on my house after the trunk snapped juuuust high enough to not also crush my 40 on the way down. So sorry for your loss, Tom.

Working on tail and break lights. Wive cut wires when she took off the Diamond plate so now I have to put the puzzle back together.

I hope you didn't make your wife feel as badly as I feel, after reading this... :(

It should just be a matter of matching colors and splicing wires.

Your hazard switch may have gone bad. Turn signals route through that switch.

You also have a turn signal relay... but, I'm betting, since the headlights no longer work, that you need to clean your grounds and fuse block contacts.

Nice upgrades. Your profile says Cali but your plates say Colo. What gives?
Nice catch. I bought the rig off a ranch in Western Colo and imported her into Cali. She will live out her long life here. Unless I give up on trying to live free and prosper in Kali and move to Idaho or something.

Heck.. That sounds nasty John.

Were just a few small islands in the south pacific and luckily we're not in a high enough latitude for copping decent cyclones but I've seen the damage the hurricanes cause in your neck of the woods.

Of course we've got our earthquakes to contend with though.

(BTW- I've always wondered why the world never settles on the one name ... The mixed use of "cyclones, typhoons and hurricanes" is confusing and tends to make one falsely assume they're different beasts.)

Picked up a 76 yesterday to add to the ever growing fleet.

I wish it was as easy as matching them up. I have a white stripe out of the right tail light and no white stripe to match it with. I think I have one of the break lights tied into the tailor wiring but I have both break lights and one tail light, and turn signals working so far. I have a Haynes book but the light configuration doesn't match any of the diagrams.

If she simply cut it, there has to be two (or more) pieces of the same color...

I'm not sure what a 'white stripe' means... Green, with a white stripe is brake lights... If it's OEM.

Green, with no stripe is tail/marker lights... If it's OEM.

Turn signals are generally

- green, with a yellow stripe, for left (I think)... If it's OEM.

-green, with a black stripe, or orange strip, depending on the year... If it's OEM.

Ground is white, with a black stripe... If it's OEM.

Red, with a purple strip (I think) is backup lights.

Maybe that helps... Hope so.

By white stripe I meant green with white stripe. It comes out of the Break/Tail light but I have yet to find a matching green/white stripe for it. I'll take your list and match, in the morning, it to the diagram I have. It sounds like what I have read. The nice thing about being out of work is that I have lots of time to work on it, however not the money to work on it with. Ha Ha

The green/white runs in the rear harness, in/on the passenger frame rail, to the passenger brake light... Then across the rear sill to the driver's side brake light.

Maybe the PS to DS segment came off... That would explain why it's missing.

If you can't find it on either side, unwrap the back end of your rear harness and find it in there.

Good luck!

May have some previous owner creative wiring, i always use a tear light to verify.. easy enough to see. I even have a homemade taillight baulb with alligator clips. Works great for testing electrical..

Hi Guys,
I have done a lot this week as I'm a full time restorer since retired and found this awesome 83'Troopy.

Barn Find 1983 FJ45 Troopcarrier

Also what have I bought? Last week?
I went on ebay as I like to browse at like nley nights and found a lot of interesting stuff at a place called "landcruiserparts" turn out to be BTB PRODUCTS from Henderson, NV guy called Brian.
I am from Perth, Western Australia.
Long story short he has +6300 transactions so he must be a pro eBayer.
To me he is a Pirate and to me BTB stands for BUYERS TOTALLY BEWARE.
He has two radiators listed both brand new. $350 a damaged one top left corner hit and a good one at $500.
After a few messages to confirm if it would fit with stock AC I hit the purchase button and pay $550 shipped to Australia. Parcel rrive yesterday night and I wack it in my boot and vaguely open it.. its there and a stump gasket. I am a nice guy and straigt away give him 5stars on the feedback at eBay.
This morning I head out to my shed, as I say I am doing restoration full time now.
I open the box of the radiator and to much of my surprise it is the damaged radiator. I couldn't breathe for a moment, I said no, no this must be a mistake it cannot be like it. But yes. I did my research and the damaged one is off the listings and guess what the good one is still listed now some +$600!!
So he deliberately gave me the damaged one as if nothing happened.
I was just lucky to keep photos of everything and I screenshot the one I purchased and there is a TRD sticker on top. Mine has the same sticker with a red stamp, so its no doubt a different item and not what I paid for.
I have contacted him several times since and no reply.
I don't want others to fall in this type of traps so just beware BTB at ebay remember my story!!!!!
Love the Mud and big respect to the many many nice people I have met in the toyota community for the love of Landcruisers. So this is my two pence for the week. Please advise which forum should I post a full buyers beware thread.

Boy that sux!
Been working off and on smoothing out rocker arm pads on the new to me rocker arm assy. Shaft has very little wear on it and all the rockers, pedestals and springs look really good. Here's a pic of one after its been polished and one that's yet to be done.

@koxfarm friend the damage in the first picture is different from the damage in the last picture. I would suggest your radiator was damaged in shipping. BTW I'm not associated wth BTB nor have I ever done business with them.

Dont be smart! Damaged radiators marked with red stamp from TRAD factory and sold for less. They suitable and work but have aesthetic value loss. Its not damaged during shipping.
He may had a batch of damaged ones and non damaged ones so he suffles them and whack them but unfortunately with me he run on ground. I will not stop here..
