I brought home a little bling from the plating shop today! Oh that's a slippery slope going down that rabbit hole!!
The new pizza cutters showed up today.
40x13.5-17 Maxxis Trepadors. Will be slapped on some RaceLine beadlocks. Which should be on the stoop any day now.
Over course a couple days at 10-15 mins here and there..Completely dissassemble the windshield wiper motor. Cleaned out the 46yr old tar like grease, chucked up one of the wiper arms in the lathe. Parted off the stripped threaded area. Drilled and tapped 10-32.
Regreased and reassembled . Plug was cut off when got the 40. Trial and error got it rocking and rolling like day it left the factor floor. Just need slap some paint on er.
Also 2 brand new 1970 VW beetle wiper arms w/c clip ends @ $18 a pair in lue of $75 a pop OEM arms..

after a looong time this week i finish the last details on my 40 and getting some miles on route , an hybrid 1-2UZ VVTI , A650 trans , doubler and 4 link rear with 80 series coils, happy with the mods.

Sggoat Gary and myself doing an Emergency brake rehab on the '71, new seal and brake pads. Typical oily gear lube impregnated with decades of dirt and leakage. The Goat has the formula, soak the hardware in a gallon of old carb cleaner overnight, rinse then soak awhile in Super Cleaner detergent bought at Advance Auto. looks like 1971 new parts now. Wish he would of told me of this combo sooner. Cleaning and degreasing the rear driveshaft too. Weird.... when we removed the rear driveshaft at the rear pumpkin one bolt and nut was missing and the other 3 were barely snug! I have not messed with this since the engine swap back in '84....Did I not give a final tightening to rear DS bolts back then and have been over three decades over numerous Colorado mountain passes and Florida streets and boulevards with loose nuts??? Appears to be the case. Better service the front driveshaft too. Bought the shoes, dust boot and seal from JT Outfitters, best price with shipping.. Got here fast. I got a big discount and priority mail over their online shipping quote by calling my order in FYI.

This weekend since have everything for the power steering minus the belt ( has Saginaw 3 bolt manual box currently) going to degrease and paint everything and see about tossing it on.

I assembled the parking brake and installed the drum.now I have to torque it down.

I have learned a big lesson.my son and I tore it apart In April and between life ordering parts and waiting on the major part to come in .i should have never taken it apart until I had everything to do the job.
Or, take a LOT of pictures of everything you do, at various stages.

Haven't had much time to do anything to the 40, but up and out the door early with my boy this morning for breakfast and flag football. A 40, my son, breakfast, and football... Can't think of a better start to the weekend...
s***can'd P.O's speaker "boards" an slapped these wakeboard speakers in that I've had laying around for last 5 years..TON better..

Sandpapered points, cleaned , regreased , cut, drilled and tapped on wiper arm post to take a screw as it was blow'd out..
Took a chance on 1970 VW Beetle wiper arms 2 arms@$18 and they take the conventional C clip arms. Grabbed a set of 13" blades this morn.
Bolted it back in, wired up, slapped arms on and kept my fingers crossed as pulled the knob.. Worked like a champ..
