This all started about a year ago when I began searching for a 40 or 60. I ended up buying a well cared for 60 and it's an incredible truck. It fits the entire family- all 4 kids and the dog.

I think the night I brought home the 60 I was back online searching for a 40. I was addicted from the beginning. A year later I've found the right one- it's a '76 with original paint, rust/rot free, with a very solid frame.

My initial plans are a 2.5" OME Dakar lift and get it back on stock steel wheels/hubcaps on 33" BFG Mud Terrains. It will need paint and body work, but not right away. I'll have a lot of questions along the way, but I'm excited to start the journey. More pics to follow once I get it into the garage...

Anyone looking for a decent set of 60 wheels??

Nice looking rig, for a fellow GA cruiser owner.

Like you control yours!! Nice stable there my friend!

Very nice cruiser, quite the rarity as your described it. Enjoy, the wife drives her 62 everywhere and loves it.

Great looking rig! FWIW, give some thought to getting a clay bar and making that original paint shine. You might find (like me) that you want to keep that original patina, which can never be replicated by new paint.DSCN1019.webp

Greg, I want to be like you some day.

its a bad addiction no known cures, but cheaper than some other habits...

Sure, I can quit anytime... that's why I'm going to Albuquerque tomorrow to look at another one!

+1 on the clay bar... Unfortunately there are quite a few holes from former fender flares, side view mirrors, roof rack, etc. I'm in no rush thanks to the fact that it's rust free.

Good to see I'm not the only one with the addiction... Maybe this site is group therapy... I tried convincing myself I would be satisfied with the 60 and 40... I'll let you know if I get back online and start searching again tonight!

I'll post up again later today with pics of it in the driveway.

It is addictive...................but SO worth it!!!!!!!!!! overton....I am betting you are single or have a VERY cool wife?????
