I was so on the fence with this thing but once I found the setting I like I have forgotten it’s even installed. There is a slight refresher needed when I’m back behind the wheel after a couple weeks but it’s no biggie.

City +2 feels right... I made the mistake of trying eco +3 on a busy road. Needless to say there were lots of honking from behind.

so, I have blown my engine. No lights, no noise, but overheated and engine is toast. Has anybody replaced an engine and what was the outcome. I’m worried about putting 15k into this engine and just continuing to have problems. Please share your thoughts and or opinions. The only engine available is a donor with 80k miles. $8k engine, $4k labor, and $3k in other parts (water pump, radiator, fluids, etc)

I replaced my 80 series engine that had a blown head gasket with a doner with 161K -- swapped it in, changed the oil and it's still strong years later.

Not sure how $4K in Labor stacks up but $3K in other parts is looks high to me.

To keep the top piece of plywood from sliding around while driving. Lay the seats down, pull thr pegs out and the plywood slides over the top of the 2nd row seats and and then locks into place on pegs in the frame to hold it in place while sleeping.

It's an add on option with the Canvasback cargo cover. It attaches with velcro. Im on my 2nd velcro installation as the heat here in Vegas destroys the adhesive on the back of the velcro strips. I wish I had added the 2nd row seat back covers too as I can never get all my dogs hair out if the carpet on the back of those seats.

It's an add on option with the Canvasback cargo cover. It attaches with velcro. Im on my 2nd velcro installation as the heat here in Vegas destroys the adhesive on the back of the velcro strips. @arun1 Note that if you are getting just the tailgate piece and not the full liner, you will need to ask them to make a modification. As designed, the tailgate piece has the front velcro on the upper side to attach to the mating velcro on the bottom of the liner. If you have no liner, you need to ask them to put the velcro on the BOTTOM surface of the tailgate piece. I've done this on my 4Runner in 2016 and the LC when new in 2021, and both times this was a no cost modification.

And as velcro does not stick to the Land Cruiser's carpet, you will need a piece of the mating velcro to adhere to the vehicle's carpet. I *think* they sent this free when I asked, but can't remember definitively. Most vehicle's seem to have carpet that works with Velcro, so they do not include it by default.

As Brett noted, after while the velcro attached to the tailgate loses its adherence and needs replaced. But two years in on mine and it is only loose one place.

Here are photos of it installed when new: #46

Yep, what he said. I have the full cargo liner and didn't even think about the install of the tailgate piece without the full cargo liner.

As per the tailgate velcro, I have toyed with the idea of installing button snaps onto the tailgate plastic and the canvasback liner to fasten it to the tailgate. But this go around i just re-did the velcro again with much better surface prep than the first time and what i think was a more industrial adhesive on the velcro i bought this time.

@Bryanseye had an engine debacle and has a thread on it in this forum. That would be a good place to start.

Thanks for the information, after some research i found canvasback and order it. Glad you mentioned about the liner. I had to call them and stop order and make the modification. I actually have a drawer system installed so, i have to tuck it underneath it. Appreciate the photos, look great. I am tired of cleaning and vacuuming dog hair on the tailgate carpet.

Thanks for your response, i have 2 dog kennels and drawer system in the back. I initially ordered it yesterday and had to stop the order today. I will make a new order tomorrow with back seat liner and tail gate liner. Appreciate it.

Originally I had the front edge tucked under the OEM trunk liner. This summer I added the Air Down Gear Up system, and the rear mounting rail ended up about 1/8” forward of the already installed Velcro stop on the carpet. Couldn’t have asked for a better fit!

Note the wear from two plus years of dragging things across the tailgate piece. At just $40, I’ve considered it almost a sacrificial piece to protect the tailgate carpet. It’s held up great so far, though.

Living in Florida, I finally gave up on the Canvasback. Very well made product and is awesome if the velcro can adhere direct to the carpet (as it does in some cars). But the adhesive does not hold long in summers of feels like temps of 110 to 115. I moved to the Orvis Grip-Tight® Quilted Cargo Protector with the Weathertech liner over the floor. That works well for two large German Shepherds. Wish the Canvas Back velcro adhered to the LC carpet.

Tailgate only should be ok. That’s an easy spot to access and fix when you need to repair. I would do that again if I felt I needed to.
