You can run a racing harness eyelet into those upper anchor spots for a very solid tie-down point.

I typically hang my dromedary bag off those spots when camping.
Yeah, my plan is to make some sort of panel that connects to that point and the other seat mounts. I want to mount my arb compressor, tank and weboost to it.

Yep, saw someone else with this installed.

Bought a pair, just have not gotten around to removing the third row seat belts.

I have drawers and assuming I would have to remove drawers to get access to pull the rear panels off to get the seat belts removed?

Yeah, rear panels need to be uncliped from the rear to get the belt assembly out.

If you don't want to remove the drawers, I guess you can cut the belt, and just remove the upper mounting point.

Made a quick and cheap and very unrefined sleeping platform on short notice for a quick weekend trip to Zion this coming weekend after my buddy said a spot opened up on his permit to descent the Subway from the top down. All-in to include the trifold foam mattress on the way from Amazon and the campsite reservation was less than one night of hotel outside the park where they are staying.

The two pieces of plywood lock in position with dowel rods when in the sleeping position as well as the seats up travel position.

Will see how it does for a weekend before I decide to invest time and effort painting or carpeting it or if I want to build something fancier.

Any updates? Considering this as well and would appreciate dimensions materials etc if you’ve got them handy. Thx.

Thanks for the report. I’m due for a replacement myself. I had an appointment scheduled a few weeks ago but the aftermarket glass I ordered came in scratched so I told them I didn’t want it. I just haven’t rescheduled since. Maybe I just need to pay the extra bit for OEM……

It wasn't an insignificant upcharge, but when I mentioned the cost to my wife she reminded me it paled in comparison to what I've poured into my small fleet. She won. Seeing the result...I'd do it again.

What are you using to get your interior mock up? Laser scanner and design software?
Powerful computer, 3d scanner, solidworks and patience.

It worked great. I'll get measurements after I take it out today. I eyeballed it while building and didn't write anything down. It will take some getting used to the lack of headspace though. I'm used to sleeping in my old 4runner which the 2nd row seats fold down flat into the floor and makes for a lot more room above your head.

I'll probably put some cargo tie owns on it too to keep cooler and gear totes from sliding around on windy roads.

All that said the wife's new 3row kid hauler shows up on Wednesday so I get to remove the 3rd row and start over with a wider platform next week haha. Or spend the EV tax credit from it on ADGU drawers/sleeper and new suspension...

I used 3/4" plywood for rigidity so I didn't need as much framework underneath it leaving more room for storage underneath. I went with one side finished in that I didn't know if I'd carpet it or not. 38.5" wide is fairly snug between the 3rd row seats. Make it a 1/4" or so narrower if you're gonna carpet it and have the carpet wrap around the sides. I went with 75" long based on my driver seat all the way back and not wanting to move it forward to fit the sleeping area, and I'm 6' tall so that gave me enough room to sleep straight. I cut the 75" length into 2 pieces one 40" and one 35". 40" piece mounts to the 2x3 legs and frame, and the 35" is the piece that rests on the folded down 2nd row seats. I made the forward end of the frame be a 2x6 and had half the width stick out past the plywood to support the joint between the 2 pieces of plywood when in the sleeping configuration. Legs are 13" tall and when you add the plywood thickness that made it as level as I needed it to be with the other half of thr plywood on the 2nd row seats.

I made a thread about a platform I made. Includes dimensions.

Did you remove the belt on the roof as well?
I took out the 3rd row middle seat belt assembly tonight.

3 bolts and cutting the belt to get the buckle off was necessary to re-use the trim piece. Took about 10 minutes.

Great. I’m 6ft and had envisioned doing this exact design.

Just Installed the pedal commander and it's a night and day difference. Can't wait to test it out more. View attachment 3440996
I was so on the fence with this thing but once I found the setting I like I have forgotten it’s even installed. There is a slight refresher needed when I’m back behind the wheel after a couple weeks but it’s no biggie.
