• Oil/filter change
• Paint correction (didn't work that well because it turns out there's some Lexus pearlescent finish that the kit didn't come with)
• Transfer case fluid top off (leaking bad from the rear output shaft)
• Fixed heated seats

Also went to a relative's friend's shop to get a dent banged out, not perfect but it's good enough for now:

Lots of cool stuff there, dude was also fully restoring a real 1965 289 Cobra.

Discovered that you can insert both the belt and tongue into the clip, getting the belt out of the way and not having it rattle. Maybe everyone knew this but me.

I did not. I actually started with the harness that keeps the factory amp, and had a lot of static. Once I switched to the bypass harness, and installed my own amp, everything worked right from the start.

Can you send me a link to the bypass harness you used? Planning on upgrading to the teyes here soon due to 60 pin issue.

Fixed bottom tailgate wires: Taillight bulbs in tailgate were not lighting up. Dug in and saw frayed wires between tailgate and vehicle. Clearly has been "fixed" before. This time should actually be fixed for a while as I removed a large section of both impacted wires so that the solder points happen in straight sections of wire well away from the stress points. I checked service history available from Lexus and the dealer had attempted to fix this 3 times with a prior owner.

Also polished up the sun faded headlight and foglight lenses using this kit available on Amazon https://a.co/d/0F0MrJ6 . It worked wonders and was easy to do. No before picture unfortunately but here's an after one.

Rebuilt the front end with:
-Rebooted OEM CVs (tundra inner boot)
-New drive flanges
-DS rotor dust cover, gasket, oil seal
-Dobinson's UCAs w/ 555 UBJs (had to get a shop to press the BJs in)
-New inner and outer TREs and boots
-New OEM LCAs, torsion bar brackets, replaced No. 2 bushing in frame
-Installed Perry Parts bump stops in the rear position

Used a jack to torque the control arm bushing at ride height. New hardware throughout, oil change, and alignment. Time to start thinking about replacing the ~6 year old tires and OME shocks!

Tried using the components indicated here: Front Lower Control Arm Romoval/Replacement - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/front-lower-control-arm-romoval-replacement.1177135/page-5#post-15135133

Mine was a bit rusty and didn't want to budge, so I cored it with a 1.5" hole saw to try and get better contact with the larger washer. Didn't line the washer and bushing shell up well as I should have, and cracked the washer putting too much force on it.

Plan B was a sawzall to cut through the metal shell, and pop it out with a cold chisel. Kroil and a MAPP torch helped. Wire wheeled the surface, light coat of grease, and pressed the new one in. The nuts, washers, and ACME thread linked in the post above and paired with press cups from a ball joint kit made pressing the new bushing in quite easy.

I fabricated two MaxTrax mounts from aluminum bar stock. They bolt directly to the 80/20 extrusions on my Prinsu. I had to mount them on the rear so I can fit my RTT. Unfortunately I had to remove the wind deflector as it would not clear.

The highly sought after rear deflector is now for sale. DM if interested.

The mounts performed well on a 1200 mile road trip around TX this past week. Now it’s time to remove the boards before I get ridiculed.

Took it down to Stellar Built a few weeks ago to have them install Method 701s in matte black, 285/70-17 BFG KO2s, and a Dobinsons 2.5-3.0" IMS kit w/ diff drop and UCAs. I installed the Slee slider steps a few weeks before that. I was amazed by how much better the ride was over the 20-year old stock! The day after the install, I towed a Razr and trailer (total of about 4,500 lbs) 400 miles round trip to Sand Mountain, NV, and it was way better than the stock suspension as far as stability while towing. There was also very little sag compared to before. I do think I am going to look at replacing the gears now, as I struggled a bit up some of the steep hills with that much weight and the larger tires.

I kept all of the original suspension pieces which are still in good shape (95k miles). PM me if you need anything.

I am preparing to replace fuel injector O rings. I have acquired an injector rebuild kit, extra o rings, and new Denso connectors in case I break the connector tabs on my going on 24 year old LC100. I made a video on a Klein wire stripping tool, which will is going to help me if I louse up one of my connectors.

Played around with raising my spare today. The skid plate spacers (and bolts) that came with my TT diff drop are 1 1/4” OD, 20mm (≈3/4”) tall. The ID (5/16”) and OD are perfect for the application but I’m leaving about 10mm on the table, and I want that 10mm! I can’t find aluminium spacers with those specs but they must exist… anyone have any ideas?

1.25” OD x 5/16” ID x 1 3/16” long
Or
32mm OD x 8mm ID x 30mm long

Also replaced my spare winch while I was there, I think some rocks found their way in and was binding the mechanism up.

Instead of re-gearing the differentials, consider the high range transfer gear with lower gearing that Cruiser Outfitters sells. I have heard that on trucks with 35 inch tires this t-case gear replacement gets the high range gearing nearly back to stock.
