Unsure if you added more about this project, but I am in the same PNW boat and this thread is long. What caulk did you use and what was the outcome? Thanks!!
Sorry, just seeing this. It was an automotive window urethane which was put on after the POR-15 (paints over bare steel or rust to create a shell coating to protect it. I also put on new window trim as well. I am all sealed up now!
Bought a new one. I’m back in. 1999 with a Slee front bumper and armor, sliders, Gamiviti rack, 4x4 Labs rear swing out bumper, 2“ OME HD lift, rear OEM Locker and BFG KO2 33’s there isn’t much it needs! 196k miles just warming up. I do need to grab a winch..
Did start a detail today, but I have to clean up the LR4 for sale.
Since I can never make up my mind...I reinstalled the Spidertrax spacers (with 265/70/18) along with new sway bar bushings. Kinda hoping the net will be better on-road handling. Looks slightly better, but spacers always add a layer of risk and complexity for any other hub-related project.
Installed the AC drain extension from Cruiser Garage. I ended up using an M7 1.0 bolt and a plastic cable clamp type connection to hold it in place. I'll cut off the excess tubing, but overall I think this will work fine. Now just need to replace the compressor/condenser and evaporator so I can make use of this drain extension!
So you put that beveled washer here to level it? I hate that I saw this because now I feel like I am going to need to do the same thing. Can't unsee it.

The trick is to rotate slowly the beveled washer L-R. Also, I had to buy longer Stainless bolts from Lowes because by the time you put that beveled washer between the light and the bracket, it’ll be too short.
That does. Thanks! I ended up getting the slightly taller mounts so I can have some more adjustments. I assume those don't hit the windshield when you open the hood?

It just happened to me too. I grabbed a needle nose plier and a head lamp right away jumped in the engine bay and luckily I got it pulled out. I just did the valve cover too. Not sure what would happen if a small piece of rubber falls in there when the engine runs.
This also happened to me and I thought not recoverable. Had to fiddle with small flatheads and small needle nose pliers and I got it out! So frustrating though I was like of course this would happen on such an easy job
Just did my 185k oil change and installed the Fumoto drain nipple; this should make oil changes a lot quicker. Also I like to grease my U-Joints etc while I'm underneath and the stars must have aligned today because ALL the grease fittings were accessible with no need to roll the truck to get the grease fittings to be easy to reach. I truly enjoy working on this truck as things are somewhat easy to get to the way Toyota laid things out.

I love the Fumoto valve, and being able to drain directly into used jugs with a short piece of hose. I no longer have to remove my Asfir skid plates to avoid making a mess. The other piece of the puzzle that I recently figured out was a modified funnel that fits under the oil filter without removing the skid, and lets me drain that oil straight into a jug. My last oil change I literally didn't spill a drop on the concrete.
