Finally got around to installing the tailgate lid. WagonGear (http://wagongear.com)—just like most of the really solid stuff I used to have on my 60s.

I have a few things left to finish it up totally, but it's solid. No appreciable extra noise on the road.

Anyone in/around SLC want a grey tailgate carpet in great shape? I certainly can't use it anymore. Free for as long as I feel like hauling it around ( :princess: says no car parts in the apartment hah).

Maintenance weekend. Oil and filter, 5 tire rotation, shaft lube, washed the mud off/out from last weekend. Too bad it's just covered in pollen now instead.

Also ordered a new VSS. I think mine crapped the bed last week.

New to me '05 LC Galactic Gray Mica with 277k - I'm gathering parts for changing a bunch of fluids and such, but in the meantime I've done the following with the parts that have arrived in the last week:

- Replaced rear O2 sensors
- Replaced hood struts
- Replaced rear liftgate struts
- Greased driveshafts and u-joints (No more clunk! - but wow the slip yokes took a ton of grease before coming out the seal)
- Installed 2 new 6.5 front speakers (Polk DB 652)
- Painted front speaker grills (Will probably do again in future, not a fan of the Krylon gray I chose)
- Installed VAISTech SLB3-T (and configured to bypass "I Agree" on Nav, nice!)
- Pulled A/C Blower and cleaned (but no improvement in it's noisiness, womp womp)

There is a wealth of information here, I really appreciate all the contributions from others and hope to be able to help somehow in the future.

Proud to see our products on such a clean looking LX470.
Whats next on the mod list?

Front runner roof rack and a RTT I got from Costco, rack should be in today or tomorrow and rtt is sitting in the shop . You know
I bought this rig to flip it because it was clean with low miles, but it looks like I will be keeping it for a while...... I think that’s it though after that. I don’t want to over build and I enjoy it feeing light compare to my last fully built rig I had.

Costco sells RTT’s?
They did last week. And it was on sale for $1600 or 1700? Amazon has the same tent for $2,300. I didn’t even bother looking it up. I know Costco return Policy is gold. I just looked and they don’t have it online anymore. It Was just while Supplies last.

Surprisingly, it works exactly as it did before my lapse in judgement. Gotta give huge credit to YotaMD on a great product. Unfortunately, as a USC fan, orange in my house is the equilivent of the J word on this site.

I've got your orange aversion covered. :) Red, green, blue and soon to be posted purple are all pretty vibrant as well!

Glad the critical part of the key made it back alive.

I turned my snorkel the other way around after watching the latest episode of The Grand Tour. BTW, they definitely use 100 series Cruisers as camera tracking cars. Badarse! View attachment 1948095View attachment 1948117
Also, did brake stuff...but that’s not nearly as important as a snorkel adjustment!

The Mongolia trip is probably a bit too far to be trusting the Landys they usually use.

Used to use, probably. A couple episodes ago, they had their film crew drive up and down a wet bit of highway to dry it for a drag race—and all the crew was in Land Cruisers, 200s mostly from what I recall.

(Posting (possibly reposting) this epic photo I found someplace (possibly here) just because)

For that episode they used 100s / 200s / GX470s / 120 Prados and V8 4Runners. Here is the link to a video Jermey Clarkson posted on his IG. Its a cool perspective

I love anything those guys put together. I enjoyed when they pulled the 100 out with their goofy rig

Well, purple is as frowned upon in my house as orange, but that green does look pretty good and the $10 Amazon special I bought for my '05 isn't going to last long. Will probably be placing an order shortly. Any discount for a testimonial?? Hahaha. JK

Btw, any down side to using a tiny drop of Locktite on the screws so I don't have to tighten them down every few months?
