This post is about what I didn’t do to my truck this week.

I planned to install @LandCruiserPhil’s “electric condenser fan kit” before leaving for a trip this weekend. Because USPS does some crazy stuff sometimes, it arrived a few hours after I left.

Hit 95 degrees today, and while parked in the heat (truck running, eating a quick lunch) I got to experience what it was like WITHOUT the electric condenser fan. Why did Toyota stop including this fan? Why?! I started driving around just to get the AC to cool down.

I wish I had been able to install the kit before we left. Anyway, it’s at home waiting for me. I plan to install it before we leave for our next trip next Saturday.

See thread for more info on the electric condenser fan:
How to get peak AC performance from your 2003+ 100 series

The fan is essential for the AC to cool properly when stationary. Highly recommended!

I finished spending a bunch of money... but the wife wholeheartedly approved. We are leaving to go get it in a couple days!!!! I didn’t want to transfer the CVT from my FJ anyway :)

Thats a battery terminal protectant spray. Keep water debris etc off and seals in the goodness.
Also keeps them from corroding up over time. Think it simply prevent fumes from oxidizing by creating a barrier - don't recall the exact mechanism but it is DOES work. This is the one I've used for years on all my vehicles:

I got my Cruiser on Wednesday and ordered the replacement Antenna Mast Thursday and it showed up Yesterday and I installed it Today!
Super Long Monkey Arms turned out to save me once again doing this by myself.

Ordered from antenamastsrus and would do so again as needed, thanks!

You know you’re not supposed to chew on your steering wheel right? :)

It looks great!!!

Apparently, the PO didn't get the memo.

Looks great! What product did you use? Did you go straight over the existing leather?

This one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MATX46S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I chose the custom option and requested perforated leather for the bottom left and right sections.
I went straight over the existing leather.

Looks great! I just bought that kit too, but have yet to install it. I have the same question as the previous poster, did you go over or did you remove the old one?

I went over the old leather. I did take out the steering wheel for the install though.

Which model is this?
It’s an Alu-cab Gen 3 Expedition Tent.

Set up in 30 seconds and strike in under a minute. Being we have 2 RTTs to put up and down every day... this is the only real thing we don’t like about camping. 30-60 minutes every morning can drag when you’re on the road for 30 or more days.

My wife wanted it because she loves the ease of our Alu-Cab shadow awning. My daughter can set it up in 20 seconds. That was one of our first Patagucci pieces of kit we bought.

All-Cab stuff rocks.

Got a lot done in the first week of ownership, loving this truck. Still detailing the inside is mess. while looking at truck to buy the PO was very specific about there being no leaks on the truck, after getting it on the lift at work I was able to find one, timing belt tensioner, I guess it was skipped at last TB service, so i replaced it, cabin airs, greased all the drive line components, removed running boards and did the pin 7 mod, I cant imagine how terrible this truck would be without being able to disable that center locker in 4L (thanks to he/she who pioneered that). Got the truck off road this weekend for the first time and discovered ill be needing lockers and tires at very least.. very soon. So today I spent a few painful hours getting my 32bit ebay mvci drivers working with my 64bit tis (all running on win10 now) and checked my AHC pressures to be pleasantly surprised to find the front and rear pressures between 6.4 and 6.5 at nearly 20 years (this October) and 260k miles everything to be in such good shape ( flush coming soon ). While in TIS I performed a joyous mod and disabled the damn LX's "auto runaway/return" steering column function, I cant believe the the still works now I dont have to cringe everytime I remove the key.

It's 95* in the shade right now even with the sun going down. The kids asked if we could wash the car so who am I to deny them of that request!
My youngest even dressed up for the occasion!

I will say their getting pretty good at it!

That sure beats a CVT tent any day lol. The South African brand tents are the best money can by (Italian made Maggionlinas are a close second). I won’t by anything else.
