replaced steering rack and saw a leak in my CV...torn right by the pfran clamp. ordering a new axle and replacing the entire thing. still deciding what clamps to do for the new axle
If you went oem, they come booted and greased from the factory. Just leave it as is and throw it on the truck. Proper clamps to fit the boots, factory tolerances, correct width, etc. Why mess with a good thing?
Also check your hub flange. If it’s worn, you probably don’t want to mate your new axle to it. Have the old ones machined in case you ever have front end trouble.
