Here is a photo of the Tough Dog Tourflex (progressive) heavy springs with a ~3500lbs 15’ trailer. It looks like it sitting about 22” vs a normal 23 1/4” . It handles fine and thumbs up to the prodigy 2 brake controller and the Clearview Towing Mirror.

And yes of course it started raining while the window was down, doors where open and the door cards were off.

Why 15’ Trailer? It fits in a double spot, pull thru for the win. Among other reasons.

Oddly the passenger mirror was holding water behind the rubber seal.

Ozone treatment to get rid of cigarette odor (from P.O.) that lingered even after powerwashing carpet, cleaning seats, headliner and all interior surfaces. Ran it for two hours + 15 mins with air on.

I had a Tacoma where the PO was a smoker and the smell would linger. One day I decided to pull the ash tray and soak it in soapy water. The solution turned black. It may be something to look at if you haven't already.

I figured out what the loud and annoying noise during heavy acceleration or under load (going up a steep hill) was. No, it wasn’t low rear diff fluid. PO had a new muffler put in, as I guess the mounts broke, it was welded so close to the body it was hitting it, making this really annoying noise. Making some space between the muffler and the body got rid of the noise completely.

Installed the “new” Fuel Tank Skid Plate. Anyone want 3/4 of an old rusty skid plate? The rear 1/4 portion is just gone (bought it that way).

The new metal Ts and clamps are here. Hoses shipped today. Hoping to tackle that project this weekend.

Ordered a low profile 3 ton Harbor Freight jack, and a pair of 6 ton floor stands. Hopefully that wasn’t a mistake. I was going to get the 4 ton one, but I need this jack to work for my other cars, too (Tiguan and Passat wagon).

I really like what you did there! Need to replace my AC control lighting on my 98 LX as it's super dim. Where did you source your replacement illumination?
Weren’t you the one that didn’t like the drive light? Though you’d love to have all those “glaring” green lights 18” away? Just Confucius a little....

I have had that HF low pro 3 ton for 4+ years. Been great for all my vehicles. Not one issue with it. It even has zerks to keep it greased up. I bought it because it was the only jack I could find that would lift real high (about 19 inches) and still fit under my 335i.

Seems a little counterintuitive I guess. But, the "D" light was crazy bright and right in my sightline. My AC illumination is practically absent at this point. Since those lights are effected by the dimmer, I don't have to have them so bright. The "D" light was unaffected by the dimmer meaning on a late night drive when I'd dim the instrument panel, the "D" light would glare like the green beacon which Gatsby was attracted to. Had the "D" light been attached to the dimmer, maybe not so much of an issue.

Thank you! I was hoping someone would chime in with their positive experience with this jack. :-)

I was worried it would not be able to lift my truck high enough, but how can you pass on a $89 3 ton jack?

My local auto parts store wanted $209 for a 3 ton jack.

I went with the Harbor Freight 2 ton ''long reach'' floor jack (lifts a little over 23''). Its the heaviest thing ever produced...but the reach really helps getting the truck in the air and reaches the rear diff easily.

I also went with the one-year added warranty for peace of mind....because ...well...its a harbor freight product haha.

Had an alignment done after my lift was installed/front end was tweaked, did a quick wash just in time for the rain, and will be reclamping the CV boots tomorrow after work as they're starting to leak a little.

Plus, am looking into different colors for the wheels, thinking a bit darker with the same gunmetal finish?

Change nothing on this truck. It is beautiful. love the lexus wheels. Seriously, one of the best looking LC's on the internets.

Those are the ones I got! I’m glad to hear these are not bad, because the price was very good, and I don’t need anything fancy.

I considered the 12 ton floor stands, but am trying to keep costs lower so opted for the 6 ton ones. If I have to get a second pair at some point in the future I will get 12s.

I’m eagerly awaiting them so I can get the snow tires/wheels off my other cars and put the summer wheels on.

I also am planning to take the parking brake apart to try to unseize them on my LC.

3 ton Low Profile Steel Heavy Duty Floor Jack with Rapid Pump®

I use the above 3ton HF floor jack and love it. Very easy to maintain and has the "reach" to lift my LX off the ground (33" tires). I also use their 12 ton and 6 ton jackstands (figure I'd go overkill on those just to be safe). I still keep my bottle jack in place as a safety even with the stands under the truck.

12 Ton Steel Jack Stands

6 ton stands were on sale this past weekend for $29.99/pair.

forgot to mention I also went with the 6 tons and they are perfect. swapped both of my cv axles the other night and the jack stands were solid.

I may never get around to fixing that broken trim piece under the headlights. ha

All that's left is to get my compressor installed today, and get an alignment!

I broke my trim around my headlights too. I had them replaced, but saved money by just having a body shop paint the pieces a semigloss black. Actually looks pretty clean behind the ARB. Just an option.

Haha thanks, though the wheels are scratched and it's bugging me.

Did you go with the Medium or Constant option on those springs? I just picked up a Jayco 174BH (also 3500#) and my OME springs (don't know which ones are back there) sag quite a bit. Thinking new springs and a weight distribution hitch will get me all squared away.

Will definitely let you know. I'm hoping I can do the spare tank before HIH. If not, I want the tank before the end of the year. Researching options currently. I'm hoping Mike can bring the rear bumper to HIH and install it there. It's right under his 3 month lead time.

Can't wait as I am also interested in the aux fuel tank options. Researched it a while back but didn't zero in on anything.

Can't wait to see the results of your work!
