New to forum and first post, hope this goes right. ha! Just picked up my first 100 and I am in love. 06 Lx 150k on the dial and fully serviced by Lexus the entire way. Just added some BFG's and am on the hunt for a rack and a Dissent front bumper. All the info here is amazing and all of the pics are incredible! Hard to find any good wheeling spots in West Texas but the mountains are only a few hours away.

@bwell

You may want to consider swapping your LCA around so that JJ is mounted to the frame mount instead of the axle. Less likely to get damaged tucked into the frame mount.
Makes sense I guess. May give it a go instead. I'm going out right now anyway to add some length to the uppers since the new lowers were about 3/32 or so longer than the factory lowers. Seemed like i had a new noise when I drove it last night after the install-no drive line vibrations or anything, my guess the setup is so much tighter after years of worn out rubber bushings.

Trip to Painted Gorge was amazing. Pushed the LC to its limits (I think) got to see if ATRAC works. It does and its very impressive! I had my doubts.

Had gas pouring out of my gas cap the top half of Carrizo Mountain. A lot of gas! I'm aware of all the threads on it and yet I still had a full tank. I hate this issue. So annoying. Also bent a control arm mount (time for some lower control arm skids)

Camp for the night:

And ended the trip with a nice new steering rack leak:

Going to monitor it and maybe try some stop leak to buy me some time before I need a new rack @ 151k.

Replace fluid with Mobil 1 ATF, add some AT-205 (per instructions on the bottle). You might get lucky like I did. Search the forum for AT-205. Worth a shot, as it's cheap and reasonably quick to see if it's working.

Got the lift installed 10 days ago cv's leaked a bunch right after that, had toyota cv's installed yesterday and as luck would have it some morons decided to spray paint the exterior walls of the shop covering all the the trucks sitting outside with overspray, including mine(Uuuuuuugh!) Good news is, I get a total clay bar and wax next Wednesday.....What a week....but the rig will be looking new and awesome, just need that front bumper to get to the States.

Thanks. How important is the Mobil 1 ATF part? I just flushed with factory fluid about 3k ago.

Works for me
Handles like its on rails and rides like a dream making it 100% wife approved.

Bad ass. I love my AHC and don’t feel ashamed about it ‍♂️

Finally had my engine run rough and flashing check engine light. I've put so much into this in terms of time, I just pulled over and took her to the side so I could order some coil packs. Didn't want to risk it by even trying anything.

Kudos to the folks on this site that have shared all their experiences, i was able to order some coil packs(OEM) cheap and get them in a day or so and had that puppy installed and fixed in 48 hours. THANK YOU for all the experts that share their wisdom!

Finally pulled the trigger on, and installed new head unit. Pioneer NEX-4201 with extras like Sirius XM and backup cam (not 100% installed yet). Replaced an ancient Kenwood Excelon unit from about 12 years ago.

sucked out some more fluid from the power steering and topped off with synthetic ATF. It has been groaning a bit in this below zero Wisconsin weather.

Built a square tube bumper. Ended up having to replace about 2’ of frame on both sides. Rust is an evil beast!

Frame section replaced with 2x4 .25” and notched the frame so it was c-channel and slid the 2x4 into place and welded also has plug welds. Will finish with scab plates in the next week.

Been fighting a fever so it took me a few days to change the PS wheel bearings and put in a reman CV axle from Detroit Axle. Did I mention that it was 28F today? But none of those things are comparable to this birch-and-a-half job of pulling the axle just far enough to fit the thinnest snap ring I have. Took me an hour to get this far.

Good news is that I'll have to do this again because the teeth on the flange are worn out. :flush:

Picked up a OBD Scanlink LX, and used an old phone for the display...was going to use a tablet, but found out it shimmied to much to be of use.

I am trying to decided if I want to go Android Auto with an aftermarket HU, but have an LX470 and the wiring nightmare is something I am not ready to tackle yet...
