I put nearly 4000 miles on my 1998 LC over the past 3 weeks without even a burble and I learned a few things. It carried my family of six through AZ, ID, UT, NV and CA like a trusty mule.
1. There are a lot of people trying to move around in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.
2. It cruises real nice at 80 mph.
3. My gas mileage goes from bad to “holy crap” if I cruise at 80...73-75mph seems to be a sweet spot
4. I just had an alignment about 2 months ago but something isn’t right. My tires are old but have decent tread and so I decided to just run them but now I have balding along the outside edge of the passenger front tire. Similar but less noticeable pattern on the drivers side

Anyway, great trips and great memories. We felt safe and well taken care of by the Cruiser. I think we’ve decided to call her Claire and I don’t know why but it fits.

When you say they are old, how old are they? What is the manufacturer code on the tire say?

Successfully tested my new tires down to 8.5psi. Always nerve-wracking finding out how low the bead will hold down to. Next trip I’ll try 8 or maybe 7.5

Replace fluid with Mobil 1 ATF, add some AT-205 (per instructions on the bottle). You might get lucky like I did. Search the forum for AT-205. Worth a shot, as it's cheap and reasonably quick to see if it's working.

I got lucky too. AT-205 is amazing.

Did some light dirt road cruising over the holiday. Found roughly 70 miles of rural dirt/gravel roads out in Mason/Llano counties west of Austin. Desolate is a word. Found a river crossing that was about 200 meters across and .60 meters deep. Bottom was solid rock. Have video of it, but need to upload to YouTube first I guess.

Put in the rear cargo LED from PFRAN kit and also the Cree backup lights! I can see behind the truck when I back up now!

Put in front and rear Weathertech mats, cut to fit trunk/3rd row mat, installed a Scangauge II, cleaned all 6 seat belts and lubed the sunroof.

Toyo at2 ? How do they perform on snow?
Actually, Pro Comp A/T Sport 37x12.5R17
They didn’t bite like my Duratracs through the crusty snow but they did dig down well and liked to give us progress if I kept the wheels spinning. They were too narrow to allow us to float very well in the sugary snow that was underneath the crust. Kinda similar to how I remember my old 295 BFG AT’s performing under my 80. By the end of the day I was very happy with these.

Replaced 2nd Denso leaking radiator and helped repalce another leaking Denso Radiator for a friend for a grand total of 3 leaking Denso radiators. Save time buy Toyota.

Also installed TrailTailor diff drop and re-installed my BIOR skids.

Greased my driveshafts for the first time. Had no idea how to properly grease the slip yolk so I just gave those 3 pumps each and crossed my fingers. The rough shifting I experienced the whole time I had my truck is completely gone. I used Mobil1.

Also replaced my steering rack bushings with some Whitelines. They took much longer than expected and it’s actually kinda embarrassing how much time I spent trying to press in the final rear bushing. It just kept on popping out. Had to retire for the night and tackled it in the morning after leaving that last bushing in the freezer overnight. Anyways, the steering “wander” I had is now gone. I originally blamed it on the cranked torsion bars, but it turned out to be the bushings all along. Here’s the 6” “bushing press” (ideal length would be 5.5”) I put together with some Lowe’s hardware thanks to the forum posts. Also the old bushings.

If I could do it again, I’d use a bolt diameter that was similar to the ones used for the rack...just with a length of 5.5”. The skinny bolt caused me to press the bushings in off-center which deformed the bushings after a few failed attempts.

Last thing to do before an alignment is address the lower ball joints. I may attempt to grease it with a needle since I don’t see any tears on any of the boots. Anyone try this on a 100?

I have Toyo AT2s and they are amazing in snow.

I live on a private road, steep both up and down, which always gets plowed late. I did not slide once in this last storm.

Drove it to Maine from NY and had snow for half the trip and felt very confident going my usual highway speeds. It's a fantastic tire. I am sold.
