Wow, who would have thought a cheap wheel from Taiwan could look so good.

I wonder if they will ever do an all leather model?

I have the same wheel. I need to put it on. How hard as the old one to get off and mount the new one?

Not too hard. Disconnect battery. Note steering wheel alignment. Pop off the small covers on either side of the back of the wheel. Using a torx bit, loosen the silver torx screws. They don't come out, they are captive. Pop off the airbag and disconnect the airbag and horn and cruise wiring connectors. Remove the center spline nut, 19mm, and remove the wheel. You may have to bump the back side of it a couple of times to get it off. Take it to the workbench and transfer the back cover, cruise control and airbag torx captive screws to the new wheel and reinstall in truck.

I'm like a fat kid in a Ice Cream shop, two months and two days later I received my Icon shocks for the rear of my truck, and my springs that I ordered last week. Hopefully it works out good, I realized during this period that I am a horrible consumer, that or I have a different mindset than some people. Big thanks to John at MetalTech for putting up with my weekly check in's.....Now if only my shop wasn't full of s*** from my basement flooding five days ago. It truly is always something in life, just make spiked lemonade when possible and enjoy the small things.

PUMA mount progress

Using existing threaded hole with sized spacers

Compressor mounting studs threaded into base and welded from the back

Spaced so compressor clears plastic fender cover using H@!% plastic with nylon cap nuts.

Super solid do not see the need for the 3 bolt on the tail base. Looks like I will be cutting off ~6"

295/70 18s.
Nitto ridge grapplers.
Had to trim back the seam and the plastic. But they fit with no rubbing. Going to adjust the t bars to give some more room.
So far pretty quiet too.

Tightened up my valve cover bolts (slight oil leak, very loose! ) Also routed my winch control cable thru the firewall and into my glove box!

I was contacted by @krice118 about making some LED hood pod mounts. I had some time this morning, so I bent some brackets to get a feel for the location and height. I prefer the one on the right, but I think I'll drop it another 3/8-1/2". At that height the windshield to pod clearance/spacing will still be good.

These are 24W CREE pods.

Let me know if anyone else is interested in this.

I don't really like the light placement I would prefer more on the side but that's just me and understand its hard on the 100 but this would be awesome for a gopro or similar camera

I think I want the edge of the pod right at the hood opening and then dropped up to 1/2".

I tend to agree. Any chance of supporting other types of lights?

Funny though that you posted this now as I was going to post this weekend and ask if anyone had tried to do this yet.

Do you happen to have any close up photos of the mount @reevesci?

Thanks for keeping us all well stocked with your work.

If I were trying to do something like this, I kind of like the concept of Yodateq mounts for the 80 series:
Ditch Light Mirror Mounts - FJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser Lexus LX450

but this probably wouldn't work very well on the pictured 100 series because of the snorkel.

After almost one year of manually locking my truck with the key due to a crapped out door lock actuator, I finally decided not to put it off any longer and replace the motor -- at 10:00 at night. Ever say this? "Honey, I'll be in in a few, just gonna knock out this quick job in the garage..."
Well, a couple hours and lots of four letter words later, I have remote locking again on all doors! PITA job, but SO worth it!

IMO it might be cleaner to do the mirror mounts like Yodateq:

I'd buy these if they made them for 100's.

PS thanks for the awesome tow points!

I want the edge of the pod right at the hood opening and then dropped up to 1/2". Any further out and the pod will always be the first strike point. While not an issue for some guys, the ones in the wooded areas will always be at risk of damage.

The mounting bracket will have to be made to make ease of install for all. Right now, it is looking labor intensive or too large for my liking due to the material span to attach to existing bolt holes. I'll keep playing with it.

You may be right, but it sure looks like the Yodateq stays within (or nearly within) the footprint of a folded side view mirror.
