Put on some 33s

Replaced defective GEN 2/3 NAV DVD player in my 03 LX with a GEN 4 unit from a wrecked 07 LC, $250 off eBay and 1/2 an hour.
Update: voice command seemingly doesn't work post update, maybe it doesn't like my accent but I recall reading someone else lost voice command going to Gen 4 too. No biggie as I've used voice maybe twice in 12 years.

A friend of mine and I did the front and rear swaybar links with all new OEM hardware at his shop. What a difference! Flatter cornering and the suspension feels "tighter" (for lack of a better term). Also did a quick wipe down while I was waiting for him to finish an inspection.

The old bushings were destroyed... This is what it looked like on the truck...

This is what it looked like when we removed it... as in, this fell off the front bar and we didn't rip it off the front bar to look like this...

The link bushings and cushions weren't that much better...

Surprisingly, the passenger side bracket wasn't too bad off, I know some people have problems with the AC drain dripping on it but my bolts came out fine.

All in all, I'm very happy with the change in handling characteristics, not that it's a sports car but it definitely feels more planted to the ground, and no more suspension clatter over bumps!!!

Did mine last year. Could feel the difference. Mine is a California LC. So they were not to bad.
I was at 180000 when done.

Nice. Where do you get the parts? Do you have a list? I'm at 170k and should probably do mine.

Here's a good thread for all the parts you'll need:

Parts list to refurb your Sway Bars

I bought everything just to be on the safe side and though even though 3/4 of the bolts and nuts came out without a fight, I still used all new hardware. Plus, I soaked everything a week before we tackled this project.

I got everything from Toyotaonlineparts.com and all parts and hardware were about $265 plus shipping.

Installed onboard air setup using ARB compressor installed passenger side engine compartment. One of my favorite upgrades so far.
This weekend i plan to get some use with it while out at King of the motos

Next project ill put together a compressor hose that connects to all four tires and inflates/deflates at equal pressure at the same time.

Thanks! How long / tough is the job?

darn - only 19 years and already need to be changed? Keep them, there might still be some warranty ;)
Honestly - these are amazing cars

Whats the advantage of soaking beforehand?

Routed all diff breathers up to the rear of the engine bay and terminated it with an inline fuel filter, replaced the 188k mile OEM fuel filter with a new one, and also discovered why my HID's weren't working after I wired them up - the passenger ballast is actually wired backwards and putting out negative voltage if hooked up red-to-red wire and black-to-black wire. I actually had to flip the connector around and plug it in red-to-black to make it work properly...good job Kensun.

Few months ago I noticed my ARB bumper turn signals weren't blinking. Chased down some corrosion in the connectors. Cleaned them out and got them working again. Yesterday noticed one of them wasn't working again. So today I spent some time, cut out the connector and put in better ones with shrink wrap to be more water resistant. Yeah, it was the bulb . . .

I totally panicked this week. Took a look under the hoods with thoughts of changing my plugs and saw my heater tees:

ALARM ARARM ALARM!!!!!!!

I had the tees and had just been waiting to do the work, so rushed to auto parts store and picked up some extra hoses in case I needed to cut anything, then after trying to get pliers on a clamp for 15 minutes said F-this and drove up to Redmond to get a set of flexible clamp pliers, then couple more days of subzero weather, checking before and after driving for any signs of a leak (fortunately not) and then got to at last today.

Total time under there was probably half hour, and when they were out guess how they looked?

Yeah.

Brand F-ing new. (ignore my daughter's hair on them, that wasn't the point! Look how perfect they are!)

PO must've had them changed and forgot to tell me, not sure why they looked like that as I will swear a few months ago they did NOT, so will be keeping a close eye on them....

TIPS: don't even try this without a pair of flexible clamp pliers and needlenose vice-grips. I HIGHLY recommend buy the Gates 28467 hose and don't even hesitate, just cut the 90 hose in bottom right in my pic above (closest to driver headlight of the 6) and then replace with the gates. That frees up space to then pull the tee out of the hose into the firewall, then off the one that drops down. That in turn frees up space to get to the other tee without much grief.

Lesson of the day, don't always assume the worst;)

The original clamps and hoses expanded over time and when the t's were replaced, they just didn't fit snug to the new t and seaped coolant. As the coolant dried, it turned everything to icky fuzz and looked scary. Good on ya for changing it all regardless.
