Found myself with a RWD Cruiser last week after crunching through a snow bank, so its currently in the shop for new OEM front axles, new OEM shocks, a T-bar crank, an oil change, and whatever else it might need...
@ted4whlz @Zando504 By 'trimming', do you mean basically just cutting them off? One of the rear flaps was hanging by a bolt when I got my LC, so I took it off and have been driving lopsided for the past few months because I can't decide the smartest way to go about removing the other one...

Took advantage of 50-degree weather here and did a somewhat full detail today; did a complete wash and wax and really got to flush out the frame and undercarriage.
This winter has been a letdown again so far (in terms of snow); we will get enough snow for them to plow and throw all the sh*t all over the roads, but not enough to make it FUN. We did have a day a couple weeks ago where I went to work early in the morning and the roads weren't plowed too well... I fully endorse Nokian snow tires, though I really don't want to wait till spring to get my new all-terrains mounted!
Plus, gave her a name: "Elsie" which is a play on the initials "LC" for Land Cruiser

So do I, unfortunately the color isn't an exact match as Mohagany Pearl was discontinued after 2002... Next closest match was Black Garnet Pearl but no one notices unless they really look.
Turns out the trail tailor recovery points won't work for my application. Not the fault of @reevesci, more the fault of ARB.
Its frustrating they decided to box in the stock recovery bolts and not include any options for front recovery. Makes the situation difficult.
The only way to get it to work would be to flip the bracket so it faces towards the tires, opposite of what's in the photo, but because the way the ARB is designed, the bracket can't mount that way because it will hit the wall. Another issue with the way it is, is the d-rings is pressed up against what I think is the tranny cooler intake or exhaust line. So any movement and it will break the metal fluid line.
Only solution I can think of is to cut at the wall blocking the bracket then weld the bracket to the bumper to create a new wall.
The bracket also wasn't quite long enough to reach past the wall of the bumper. So I did have to cut it a bit to get the pin through the hole, to where I discovered the issue with the fluid line.

Can you run a spacer between the bumper and tow point? I know this would make it lower but, it would give you the possible clearance needed for the shackle.

Possibly. I'm not sure how hard it would be to source a spacer though.
I should also note that the points will work perfectly for the rear and for the front of a stock truck. It's just the complications of the ARB that are causing problems.

I also have the ARB bumper and noted this inconvenience. I use the stock recovery hooks which are 3" long they clear the walls. I'll post a pic when I get home.
Let me mull it over tonight. I'm actually liking the idea of cutting the wall, then bolting them facing the opposite direction and welding them to replace the wall that was cut out (if that makes sense). It will keep them higher up and look like they're incorporated into the bumper.
I had one of those on the front side but was hoping to get something I could use a d-ring with.
I'm also considering attempting to slot the bolt holes in the direction of the bend. Theres still a lot of space between the bend and the heads of the bolts. Now to figure out how exactly to cut/drill a slot into 1/2"
My son got some 7 inch led bars for his lx470, any insight on how you hooked these up and mounted them

Washed the exterior as well as the undercarriage to remove all of the salt and sand that has been scattered on our roads here. Then put her in the garage and did a good inspection of the undercarriage while it was clean; everything checked out great. Also cleaned the throttle body & tightened the throttle cable. When I submerged my truck about 4yrs ago and handed it over to the dealership to try and revive it, I believe they cross-threaded the bolt that holds the airbox assembly in place. The bolt farthest back in the engine back (closest to windshield) snapped right off when I gave it a turn
For now I have kinda said screw it since there is another bolt that holds it down and after putting that one in I have it a shake and concluded it was still secure. I might figure something out later on down the road or may leave it just the way it is if it's not a problem, just didn't feel like tackling that issue tonight.
