I changed out my T-case shift ball. ;)

Out with the old and busted, in with the new hotness. New OME shocks replaced old OME shocks. New 555 upper and lower ball joints. Next on the list is that cracked up sway bar bushing there and then tie rod ends once Cruiser Outfitters gets them in.

Removed my hood to install the black-out decal from the group buy by @Manhattan and Crawlorado inside the house (where it's warm) and as I was walking back in I looked back and just felt so bad for him to be sitting there in 8 degrees with a snowstorm coming...

So I tucked him in for the night:

Is that weird? ;)

NAH! Esme has been out for 3 days in bad weather.. I felt the same way the first night... It was -25F here this morning and I have 2-3' snow drift against the shop door.

They will both be fine!!!!

Well, I picked up my truck from the joints, it was out all night at near 0*. It had a hard time starting (newer battery) and then the APPS went wonky and it would only barely idle or go WOT. I got it warmed up enough to move, let it sit for a bit in the sun, then disconnected the battery to reset things. Reconnected and all good. Cold does crazy things.

Fixed my seat back junk collectors, painted my door speaker grills the other day, and then contemplated if my el cheapo Icon shocks were being spun from gold as they are built to order and haven't even been sent to the retailer yet! You know since the order was placed the 25th of November and such.

Oil change and tire rotation! Rented a uhaul car trailer and drove 2hrs to the Raleigh area where I was planning to buy the wife a Prius, but people and pictures do lie :rage:. Turned around, drove right back home and dropped off trailer. Cost me $60 and almost a tank of gas :sorry:. Still Prius looking!

Went out this morning to discover it was good that I tucked in Hanzo last night:

Putting the hood blackout decal on went smoothly last night and I'm thrilled with the result!

I finally installed the 30mm rear spacers and then re-indexed the torsion bars to get enough height out of the front (much easier process than I first thought). I was concerned that maybe it might be too high, but I'm not having any of the odd handling issues that I've read about regarding torque steer. It feels just as well as it did before I changed it (with a slightly stiffer ride obviously). I'm happy so far!

Well it turns out I was a bit premature on my assessment of the handling characteristics after lifting up my LC with the stock control arms. It felt fine to me at first, but then after driving it for awhile, I noticed that I did have some drive ability issues including an uncomfortable amount of torque steer and not returning to center after making a turn. But I've just recently installed the SPC upper control arms and finally corrected the alignment. It's now become a much more stable vehicle at speed on the freeway and over rough surfaces. And I'm much happier with it.

And then, since it was apart, I went ahead and put in a new (Toyota) steering gear, tie rod ends, and sway bar bushings.

Put in new "strongarm" gas pistons for the hatch and hood. Also replaced the rear tail light that I stupidly tagged on a rock. I covered up a spot of rust for the winter.

Found out I broke my rear sway bar bracket that mounts to the frame in 2 different locations - outside frame bolt sheared off and inside bracket broke off around the bolt. So I fixed it by drilling out the sheared bolt (to which I somehow managed to save the threads in the frame) and moved the inside frame bolt to that outside hole for the time being. Also adjusted my parking brake both at the turnbuckle along the rear axle and inside the rotor to get rid of a rattle. Success! Greased spider joints & slip yokes. Much better ride now!Don't mind the road grim it just snowed and I've been driving on sanded streets

I removed the weird vibration damper from the underside of the frame. It most definitely has a purpose. Somewhere between around 1800 to 2100 rpm's there is a frequency that the engine hits that causes a resonance. I noticed it immediately after removing the damper. It passes through the offending rpm range very quickly under aggressive throttle, so I only noticed the sound under part throttle acceleration/deceleration. If the vehicle was brand new it would bother me, but it is not an offensive sound.

I also installed a drain hose for the ac system and routed it the lower fender liner outside the frame. This way it cannot drip directly onto the PS sway bar bracket and rust it out again.

With the help of my nine year old son, I removed, sanded, cleaned, painted and re-installed my OEM roof rack. It now matches my grill color in 'flat soft iron'. Which my son picked out instead of the slightly lighter 'matte graphite metallic'.

Went on an awesome snow run with CentralOregonLandCruisers (.com) out China Hat. A couple beastly 80s broke trail so the rest of us (13 rigs in total) could follow along:

VERY happy with my Cooper Discoverer AT3's, aired down to 12-15, almost zero drama and only 2 instances of needing to back and forth my way out of a slick spot, and recovered an LX;)
