Silicone promots rust, not inhibits it ;)
maybe in california it does. you're probably using an acidic cure product. regular old silicone only promotes rust if you use it wrong and it traps moisture. i sealed bolts for over a decade when i lived in illinois...never had any rust. i also used a rusty nail in place of a missing cap on my tube of silicone and when i pulled it out a couple months later, there was no rust where it had been in the silicone.

A piece of metal I haven't bothered installing yet :flipoff2:

It's a chain loop for when you are towing. Made by some guy in Canada. Don't remember who now :(

So I removed my tow assembly because, well, I don't tow anything (other than vehicles out of snow banks in the winter) and just use my tow hooks for that. It was rusting and was the only rust I had on my truck. I figured I would clean it up, repaint it, and reinstall it. Haven't gotten around to it. But it would look cool to have with a pintle hook on the stock bumper four holes...

Exactly

Can I add to the conversation a list of things that I'd like to see? How about USB plugs in a switchplate. You could mount it to the dash in an empty spot or those useless coin holders. A USB pass through would be nice also for those of use with stereo's that have rear USB plugs. Just get a short cable and have have a clean looking dash mount for your stereo USB plug. Ready made attic storage for what used to be the third row would be nice. I've seen plenty of guys make them on here why not make them to sell to us that don't have the time or tools to do it ourselves. I agree with the earlier post about something for where the third row belts where. I don't know what but if it's useful enough I'd probably buy it.

Edit:

Oh and one more thing. One of these would be nice.

Umm...in development now. :grinpimp:
Lots of experimenting going on and it has nothing to do with sex or drugs :flipoff2:

I'm actually trying to do the opposite....loose the pintle and establish some kind of 2" receiver.

-an aftermarket dash cup holder for the '95-'97 useless cubby, and and a 1-DIN pull out cup holder for us '91-'94 owners.
This exists, it's $40 shipped. PM me.

Some good ideas here!
I'm Definitely getting on the USB plugs to start.

I plan to build a stealth storage that will dip into the spare tire location.
That's where I'll store my compressors, amps, inverter, fans, and a few other things.....if there's room I'll have air tanks in there too.

Having a need for the third row seats (as soon as I stow them in the garage) Storage options that take the place of the rear plastic trim near the third row. That area is a cave but seems to need a water resistant set up. I could store some tools in a roll up and spare gaskets/pieces
Storage that sits flush after I remove the passenger air bag. Make it look exactly like the air bag. Maybe a secure quick entry gub staging area.
Storage that bolts under the truck. Either to the frame or body. PVC pipe is common, how about the brackets custom made to fit into existing bolt locations.
Brackets that hold a .30 or .50 ammo can under the truck or in the engine bay. A stand alone kit that would relocate all the stuff in the engine bay for the ammo can storage. I think what I'm trying to say is.....give me bolt in/on storage options I can move to my next 80 series land cruiser and make them as water proof as possible. Thanks for offering up your skills to the masses.

How about an adapter for the isuzu 4bd engines to a A440-A442 that we can have another better option for ordering the adapter.
